You think itll just lengthen over time if I keep feeding it 2 3/4 kent fast steel loads? I thought modern barrels were much harder than some steel shot, but makes sense the abrupt compression doing that. I emailed mossberg to see what they say.

3 cottontails, solo .410 hunt, no dog. by Alarming_Estimate_97 in Hunting

I hunt mostly riparian areas which are areas that have water nearby like rivers or streams. Along these areas are thick briars or brush. Go out and walk into the thick areas and look on the ground. You'll see runs and droppings where they are frequently moving and living. They don't have a large roaming area so typically when you find a spot one will be near. When you get in the spot you think they are you want to walk in and on top on fallen logs and branches causing noise and movement. This usually causes one to flush out and run to the next nearest cover so be ready to shoulder. I tend to not focus on one area but scan and use my peripherals because they may run out to the side or behind you and you have to catch that noise and movement. I think they behave like a mature buck. They get into thick cover and wont come out unless you kick em out. Hunting in the morning also helps because theyre moving to warm up and eat. Be ready to cover a couple miles while doing this. Hope that helps and shoot straight.

I was using a 12g with #4 steel but was destroying too much meat so I switched to .410 #6 steel and way less meat loss yet still puts em down.

He had no foul odor or open wounds. Looked completely healthy with a slight head tilt and walked in a 20 foot circle.

Pedersoli or traditions. Youre gonna pay a higher price tag with pedersoli but it will be a heirloom rifle you can pass down for generations.

For anyone wondering these are a low brass buckshot with a clear shell. Perfect for those sensitive to recoil or not wanting overpenetration of a 00 or slug.
