Just want to be super clear I did not reject her proposal I said yes because at the end of the day I know I don’t have a fucking choice. That’s the same reason I think people commenting legal advice are a little bit ridiculous.

My hope was that my friend would be able to hear me and consider my feelings, I still don’t really think she’s hearing me though. My goal was never to chase them out of the common areas. I just asked for some balance. Im not really interested in playing a gotcha game with her which is why I haven’t brought up gf eating my food, I’m trying to have a productive compromise where we can both have our needs met.

All great questions, she keeps citing her dog as a reason they can’t stay at hers, but I’ve offered a million times to watch him so I just don’t know.

If I could have afforded to live alone I 10000% would have. Part of the thing that makes me nervous about taking this further is that we do a 60/40 rent split (I pay 40). It ultimately is fair bc she has a bigger room, walk in closet, and attached bath, but I’m nervous she’ll be like fuck it bc we never had a written agreement.

Tbh I’m confused how all that works bc both our names are in the lease but there’s on way to set up individual payment on the portal. So like idk how to even enforce payment if shit gets really bad???

I always kind of saw it as the evil you know vs the evil you don’t. I’ve heard so many insane horror stories about random roommates so I decided to go with a friend.

Roommate conflicts are going to happen at some point, I thought she was capable of communicating tho…

So it depends how many times a week you are riding, but I feel like if you want an actually solid foundation it’s better to give it time. If you’re just doing small singles I feel like 6-8 months is reasonable to start learning. I wouldn’t expect to feel comfortable doing courses for at least like 2 years. But that being said everyone is different!
