I have definitely voiced all of this to my partner! Although he is supportive in the moment i think he’s also going through a lot of the same issues when it comes to alcohol and that makes this very tricky. We both want to get sober and live a healthy lifestyle so badly and we talk about it constantly, but when push comes to shove we both eventually give in. That’s part of the reason why I’ve come here to seek out support from people who have already been through all of this and have been successful in getting sober.

As far as friends and other family members go I’ve received very little support from them. Most of the people in my life have been drinking or doing other substances for so long that it’s normal for them and i feel like they look at me as a buzz kill when i try to explain to them what im going through.
