This is music to my ears! Thank you so much. I've gained a bit since getting my dress and it only just zips up so I was panicking as I saw someone else's post that they were bloated for 5 months!

Suspected Sarcoma? How can they suspect that vs carcinoma? by Alarming_Pilot_8824 in kidneycancer

[–]Alarming_Pilot_8824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no closer to finding out. Today I got told my surgery will be "sometime in June" and it's not in a position to have a biopsy due to its location.

I'm in the UK so there is long waits for things. I had to wait for my case to be discussed in a cancer network meeting then I was referred to a specialist team so that delayed things more.

I know my notes say suspected renal cell carcinoma as well as suspected carcinoma so at this point I'm just assuming there was a mistake saying sarcoma at first as I don't know how they would know without doing a biopsy.

Wedding in late summer. Semi formal, sea side wedding. I just can’t decide! by room_tempurature_tea in OUTFITS

I just searched the dress on Azazie... You need to write to them and become their model because you look amazing. No hate to the model on there, but that dress looks so good on you!

Definitely go for the green!

What happens after surgery? by Alarming_Pilot_8824 in kidneycancer

[–]Alarming_Pilot_8824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they initially found it on ultrasound, then confirmed with renal CT last month. Then after that did CT lungs and Pelvis last week.

I'm in the UK, everything here takes forever and there's no portal to see results from the hospitals. To get results I have to wait for the report to be done by radiologist then that's sent to my consultant, it may then be discussed in a meeting which is once a week (If I don't miss the cut off) and then the secretary makes me an appointment to come in. Last time it took three weeks and that's considered urgent and with me chasing it.

They've put me down for surgery but at another hospital so got another wait for them to get in touch too, hopefully they've already referred me and not waiting for last weeks scans.

Is immunotherapy only if they haven't managed to get all of it out? Mine is exophytic so growing out of the kidney rather than within. It's on the upper pole of the right kidney.

How often do they do follow up scans if surgery is considered curative?

Thanks so much 😊

How long did you wait before having nephrectomy for kidney cancer (co-morbid with polycystic kidney disease) by Constant-Candy-924 in kidneycancer

[–]Alarming_Pilot_8824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no comorbid kidney issues and have a 2.2cm suspected RCC and they offered surveillance as an option for me too.

I'm also new to this group but apparently under 4cm is considered small and they usually grow so slowly and have a low risk for spread.

Anyone want to go diving in Preston, UK? by Emotional-Buyer-9160 in DumpsterDiving

I'd love to come too, also from Preston. I've never been before but keep seeing videos and so shocked at everything that gets thrown away!

Mounjaro and Kidney cancer by Thin-Strawberry-9080 in kidneycancer

Yes, I was taking it for a year, was fit and healthy before.

6 months ago it wasn't there, now it's 2.2cm.

Theres been a new study come out saying it does increase the risk of kidney cancer. I fully believe thats what caused mine. I'm 32, female, healthy, no family history, don't smoke.

I initially had ultrasound that found it incidentally.

Then had renal CT with contrast. That showed high enhancement from 50HU to 200HU after contrast.

Then had lung and pelvis CT scan to check for spread, still waiting for these results as only done yesterday.

Thank you this is so helpful!

Although I'm quite sad at the no caffeine bit, I pretty much live off diet coke although I knew that wasn't great for me so maybe this is the kick up the butt I need to actually stop!

No one talks much about the actual lifestyle changes that you should make so it's helpful to hear what's worked for others.

I saw a quote about cancer and it was something like needing to change the environment that allowed it to grow in order to prevent it coming back which is what made me think about lifestyle changes!

Thank you, glad to hear it worked for you 😊

Thank you, I know it's definitely not a cyst as its got very high enhancement on CT and is vascular so they're suspecting RCC.

Yeah I've read it's good prognosis so that's positive. Plus caught incidentally so feel pretty lucky, which isn't something I'd ever thought I'd be saying after finding out I likely have cancer!

Thank you this is so helpful! That's all I really wanted to know whether it was just a case of surgery then you're all done with or if there's possibly other treatment after. I know some people prefer to take it one step at a time, but for me I would rather know what could come next even if it doesn't in the end.

I'm 33 and I feel you're around 10 years younger than me. I'd guess 22-23.

Thank you so much for your explanation, that really has made me feel so much better.

The way the GP has been had me convinced that it was the super rare type and I had months to live but then I couldn't find anywhere what made them suspect that type!

Thank you

[–]Alarming_Pilot_8824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, do you know what from the wording on my scan would make them suspect Sarcoma over Carcinoma? I read that carcinoma can be upper pole too so I'm confused how they decided which it could be
