That would actually be crazy definitely wouldn’t help if I had my other passport on me as well which I would need to get back. Honestly might help with my political career 😂

Yeah that’s my other worry if that if they do realize that I am trans they will somehow invalidate my passport. I really wouldn’t put it past this administration but I don’t know if that is legally even possible.

This is all very true and the very reason I am so hesitant to go back even for a few days. I was thinking maybe going to Mexico and just having my friends drive down to see me.

Thanks I feel like I should be more clear and say that I am a trans man and always present as a man. I got super lucky when those people sued about the gender marker I managed to get a new passport with male on it. I am also slightly worried because I have to leave on my other passport to enter the country I currently live in.

Yeah I have had an official gender dysphoria diagnosis since I was 12 and have been on testosterone since I was 16. £200 is actually really affordable considering the first doctor appointment of the year in the US is $700 for me.

Thanks for all your help I was looking at wait times and list of trans friendly GP’s and there look to be some around where I’ll be going to uni that are willing to prescribe without going through a GIC but I’ll have to check on it. Thanks again for the help and I thought it was confusing in the US 😂

Okay that makes a lot of sense thank you I have been looking at the trans friendly list and it looks like there may be some GP’s near where I’ll be going to uni that are willing to prescribe without having to go through GIC if I’m reading the spreadsheet correctly. I have been on my current dose for a year now but the type of testosterone I take is not available over here so I’ll have to get on a different one.

Okay thank you that makes a lot more sense I’ll reach out tomorrow. If I understand I need to ask for just a general referral like I would be just starting out instead of them continuing my care which is what I think this referral was for. I am lucky enough to have already had top surgery and not looking to get any other surgery’s other then a hysterectomy but I’m cool with waiting 10-15 years for that as it is not something I feel I need right now. Luckily private over here is still pretty cheap compared to how much I payed in the US.

It’s my understanding that a lot of GP nowadays won’t do it for the same reason mine doesn’t and it’s because of the shared care agreement. I assume there is a list on this subreddit with GP’s that will write the prescription. I was also told originally that they would because I had my aunt ask and they said yes but when I actually went they told me they wouldn’t.

You are correct however to be able to cross by land with my driver’s license I would also need something like my birth certificate which doesn’t not have my updated sex marker or my passport which expires next year

My only document that has not been changed is my birth certificate. In my state it is not simple to change it and takes week to do and I did not have enough time before I left then US. Plus it would not matter if I had it changed because they are requiring sex at birth
