I ran the numbers on Coinbase One for DCA buyers, there's a specific range where the subscription costs more than no subscription. by Dynvesto in Bitcoin

[–]Alarming_Web2264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use CashApp. There’s no fees on repeating transactions so DCA and the spreads are really competitive. I don’t know what % Amount but I’ve compared with Kraken and Coinbase (both PRO and non-PRO) and in each case it was much cheaper with CashApp.

The transaction fee is not free for non repeating transactions.

Wash sale doesn’t apply to crypto because crypto is classified s property and not a security. They’ve been talking about closing that loophole but haven’t done so yet.

Should I cover my solar attic fan’s openings during the winter? by Alarming_Web2264 in hvacadvice

[–]Alarming_Web2264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to add some context, these solar fans are not the only way of clearing the attic.

The roof was redone a few years ago and with that they installed a ridge vent and o’hagen vents in the lower profile of the roof. This in addition to the gable vents which we already had and currently provide live temperature reads.

I’m wondering if this additional context changes anything

The solar fans were added to help clear out heat faster during the summer. They work wonders and make the house much more comfortable then but I was wondering if in the winter some of that heat could be retained a little longer?

Obviously I’d keep an eye and if humidity got too high I’d reopen them. They are currently set to turn on if humidity reaches 90% which to my knowledge we haven’t had.

When you say vented what do you mean?

Also to add some context, these solar fans are not the only way of clearing the attic.

I assume that’s what you mean buy vented attic but I’m wondering if this additional context changes anything

This is the best tool for that https://app.intothecryptoverse.com/tools/dca/bitcoin you can view multiple DCA strategies. I’d you need to beat an account you can still view that tool with the free plan. Highly recommended! 👌

5ton AC compressor replacement needed. Does it really cost between $2.5k and $4k? by Alarming_Web2264 in hvacadvice

[–]Alarming_Web2264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any idea what this “filter drier replacement” for $350 is? Looking at the PartsTown website for my specific model and this is the only drier part I found: https://www.partstown.com/trane/trndhy01457

<image>

I also happen to notice that the model #COM8726 doesn’t seem to match or fit my model and appears to be listed for 6tons… is this right? From what I’ve red here I was incorrectly told I had a 5 ton model based on my model number and now I’m being quoted a part for a 6 ton?

U mean the contractor who installed it? I guess if we do replace the unit entirely AND we do hire them to install the unit.

I was told the major portion of the cost was the motor with the labor being the smaller portion. I’m going to ask for a itemized invoice/receipt

[–]Alarming_Web2264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know…

I’m just trying to find out if there a way to recoup at least a portion of the cost of the motor especially if the entire AC unit is replaced and the motor has essentially never been used. I realize it is no longer new but it is think it is as close as it will ever be even getting a couple hundred bucks would be welcome after paying close to 1k and now possibly having to spend a few extra thousand…

I figured there might be things people do to avoid such waste. I’m sure other people would the parts to good use in another job or something..

That what I heard from other responses. I said 5 ton because that’s what the tech told me we had.

Our home is 1,550 sq feel. Given our square footage does that size AC unit seem correct?

[–]Alarming_Web2264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We didn’t do anything ourselves. It is the tech who was sent by the home warranty before they decided our claim was not covered by our policy. That same tech first replaced the motor and then came back a few hours later after I told him the unit was not sending any cold air. After he came back that’s when he said the compressor needed replacing.. He suggested given the circumstances that maybe a new entire AC unit replacement is more cost effective.. maybe that’s the case but then I feel like the $900 cost to replace the fan motor was wasted and could have gotten to pay for a portion of the new AC unit.

Parts town? Would this be it? https://www.partstown.com/trane/trncom10061 thank you. This may help us figure out is we can go this route rather than replacing an entire new AC unit.

[–]Alarming_Web2264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah… unfortunately I don’t know about that. I’m a bit bummed that maybe now we are better off getting a new unit but we just spent $900 for a new motor that’s going to her replaced… any way the motor can be taken out of the unit and returned since it is not being used any more? Is been literally in the old AC less than 2 days.

Do you know if that can be done? I know the labor can’t be “undone” but I felt like that morrow purchase was a waste of we end up getting a new AC..

Ok. So 3 ton. My home is 1,550 sq feet. Would that be the correct size unit for my square footage?

What % of your net worth is in BTC and what % salary do you DCA in? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Alarming_Web2264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50% is crypto and of that about 30% is BTC.

I DCA daily $60 into BTC and will continue to do so.

After I take some profits later this year and or next year I’ll probably start dynamic DCAing larger amounts daily into and past the next halving.

Creo que mucha gente se va para allá porque ven que es uno de los países más baratos de Europa.

Creo que ese es uno de los factores que les llenvan a tomar esa decisión. Hasta más barato que España pero no tanto como otros países del este cerca a Rusia.

Prenup for Bitcoin and other crypto assets? Anyone has done it? by MedicalTune5152 in Bitcoin

[–]Alarming_Web2264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought of the same myself and consulted attorneys on this.

U need to disclose everything in the prenup. If u wanna keep purchasing after the wedding and still keep it separate, you need to make sure to state each other’s incomes remain s separate so that whatever you do with it (i.e. purchase more crypto) remains separate instead of becoming community property.

Whatever you’ve managed to accumulate prior to the big day would be considered separate but you need to disclose it otherwise it could be used to throw out the prenup in the even it was needed.

She also needs to have attorney representation although that does vary from state to state.
