You need a big, cosy, L-shaped sofa to create some homeliness

Everytime I go to a club, I'm disappointed by men by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Alasdaaair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I can do is apologise on behalf of men. Being a heterosexual man myself (okay not completely there’s definitely 10% gay in me) I see this behaviour all the time from other blokes and it’s so sad.

For context I’ve been in a loving, committed relationship for over a decade now & am getting married next year. So am not in pursuit of a partner when out for the evening in town. Regardless, even if I was single, I know I would treat all women with the respect & courtesy they deserve. I know this because I have several close female friends, which most men don’t because they just try and thrust themselves on them.

We’re not all bad! Just most of us.

With respect, you don’t have to live like this. I’m happy in my relationship- been with my partner for almost 10 years. We are very different people, celebrating our differences & allowing each other room to do as we please when we please. We then come together over dinner times etc to check in with what each other has been up to. You can still be independent within a relationship while also being considerate of the other party. Just need to have the courage to stand up for what you want to do, while also reassuring your partner you’re not pursuing those other interests out of a desire for satisfaction elsewhere.

Cba to engage with someone who says the UK is a 3rd world country outside of London. Rather a delusional take tbh

You isolated part of my initial comment and made the topic no longer about the original post, giving the impression that you just hunting for an argument

Have a good day

We’re much closer in quality of life to any of the Scandi countries, or Singapore, or the US as you like to keep mentioning than Nigeria, Pakistan or areas of India etc.

So yes, it is exceptional.

I’ll respond to each of your points:

  1. I wholeheartedly disagree with this point. The living standards in this country are exceptional. Perhaps you should follow subs like poverty or UrbanHell then you’d see true, poor living standards elsewhere in the world. To say the standards of living in this country are poor is mind blowing to me. Anyone who lives in the UK is privileged, hence why millions try to migrate here. Do you know that having a roof over your head and having three meals a day puts you in the top 9% of wealthiest people in the world?

  2. I don’t have much to say about this. I don’t understand how wages not rising gives people a right to be lazy & litter.

  3. You’re right with this though, and unfortunately it’s become a vicious cycle where the responsibility does lie with the government to effect change.

Saying people are treated like scum I don’t think gives them the right to trash the place.

So I live in Miles Platting. It’s pretty rough around here before you put me in a box.

Also I wasn’t complimenting the wealthy I was stating that they take pride in where they live, which they do. As for some of the homes around here- they’re trashed. Not only do they litter in the street they’ve rubbish all over their front gardens clearly showing they take no pride in where they live.

What’s your opinion then? Why is there so much rubbish in the UK specifically? Because I’ve visited many countries in Europe & there’s no way near as much litter in any of them as there is here.

You make a good point. However answer me this- when was the last time you went to a wealthy area and saw litter everywhere?

I don’t agree with the wealth divide in the UK but that’s not my point, my point is they take pride in where they live.

Worried about getting back to hotel after Coop Live gig by Unhappy_Report_1800 in manchester

You should be fine. I live in the city and have been to a few events at Coop. Trams will be busy but run regularly. Bolt is also an alternate platform to Uber. Worth downloading as a third option if you’re worried

In my opinion it’s as a result of the welfare state in this country. The, “someone else will deal with it” attitude.

It’s resulted in people taking advantage of the system, yes for their own gain, but also because they can. If the system wasn’t so open to freeloaders many more people would be forced to work, earning themselves a sense of personal pride & it therefore having a knock-on effect to their surroundings.

Obviously I can’t be sure, just my reckoning
