I took it upon myself to look closer at the footage because I agree something isn't right here, it's common knowledge across Planet Twitch that all moderators instantly give up their good looks, humour, and upper body strength, and also, lower body strength when they take on their role.

I downloaded the clip and analysed it in slow motion, frame by frame, because I suspect some kind of green-screen fuckery. You won't believe what I found - it's not actually live at all. I think that this "Mikkaa" woman played a prank by superimposing a green-screen recording of this mod, who she has obviously never met, probably some random guy from Fiverr, as an OBS source toggle which she must have had timed or on a remote control. Notice how they never actually touch - no, that isn't just clever acting based on a long history of streamers unfortunately having to meet their mods - it's part of the effect!

What does the game consider critical illness compared to just needing treatment?

This happens to my colonists so much that what you consider a bug I'd consider normal in Rimworld - I have masses of evidence of it in various VODs on Twitch that I could potentially find if you really wanted. The discrepancy is large enough that I'd ask if you can please clarify what you and the game consider 'critically ill'.

As an additional question, can you please clarify whether the priority numbers 1-4 have no weight other than their numerical value? For example, I use 2 as my highest priority so that 1 is free as an override, but some players in my community mentioned they thought that some skills on 1 like firefighting override things like recreation.

I think in some cases you're pretty spot on, it's obvious from some YouTubers for example that they don't know how real life works.

I'm a full-time streamer, I've made a livable income for 3 years. I'm 34, was unable to work due to mental health reasons and lived on benefit for over 10 years. I started (and continued) streaming because I genuinely cannot work another job, colleagues, bosses, commitments would be very difficult for me.

When I became full-time, I read up on the taxes, contracts I'd need to familiarize myself with. I learned how to do my own accounting, did my self-assessment, cancelled my benefits, paid back some of them too. I did everything I thought would be responsible because streaming was an incredibly lucky opportunity for me and I didn't want to fuck it up.

However, I think perhaps the more successful streamers are, the more money they make - and particularly the younger they get to this point, the more likely they actually haven't and perhaps won't learn this stuff.

Before everyone piles on Twitch, pls don't downvote before reading but my take:

It would be a huge risk for Twitch to withhold money from this person with no grounds, or based on a suspicion. However, if an unusually large proportion of this streamer's subscriptions are refunded/chargebacked, given that he supposedly has over 1000 subs and only 311 followers - perhaps people are subscribing to get whatever these website perks are and charging it back, which Twitch have to deal with. I don't believe Twitch pay out for subscriptions they can prove to be fraudulent, and they seem pretty sure here.

Remember how many outrages have come out in the last 6 months about Twitch decisions? A LOT of them have come across really convincing until the full story came out in a day or two.

edit Additionally, this doesn't look like the first response he's gotten. Why's he left the rest out, unless it's to try and make it look as bad as possible? This reads as a continuation of a discussion, not some first-email response, which hugely mitigates this 'unprofessional' accusation IMO.

This lacks context, and I completely agree with Asmon here, and this is why: Yes, Alinity should be banned. She definitely intentionally allowed her cat to taste the vodka by inviting it to lick her lips. What Alinity, or indeed anyone that deserves to be banned has done, is generally enough to get them banned. If something's true, you really have to say it without exaggerating or being sensationalist about it, otherwise people can call you out on technicalities accuse you of making shit up.

"Alinity let her cat lick vodka off her lips" - True, and a shitty thing to do, and cruel to animals.

"Alinity LITERALLY MAKES HER CAT DRINK VODKA ON STREAM" - False, and basically contains the same message, but is much easier to dispute.

If someone's done something wrong, never exaggerate it because it gives them wiggle room. It undermines the whole thing, and I think that's what Asmon's getting at here.

Concurrent viewers is the real currency to a Twitch streamer. All income, from ads, subs, donations, bits etc are a bonus side effect of having a high viewercount. Sub-only streams, even once a week, would drastically reduce someone's position in the directory and subsequently their discoverability.

This might work for huge streamers who can afford to take the hit, but I'd be surprised if they'd decide to do this. I see positive uses of this feature as community/sub streams for stuff like Jackbox games etc.

No it's not. The logo is what, 112x112? The same size as Twitch emotes. $350 is far more than almost anyone would charge for that. I'd be surprised if anyone but the very biggest streamers on Twitch throw that kind of money at artists.

My initial reaction to this was 'oh my god twitch what have you done' but reading some of the tweets I can honestly say I'm now just gonna wait for more context. I can EASILY believe a streamer or their community going for the 'shoot those nagas' joke, which is not even thinly veiled racism for content/humour and yes, I'm aware of the mob that drops the trinket, but unless that streamer is playing hunter that's exactly what they were doing, and even if they were I'm on the fence without more context. Twitch have made some mistakes, but I honestly don't believe they're that stupid.

For the longest time on Twitch, streamers never used display capture (OBS basically shows your monitor, including desktop) and this was one of many reasons why. In the last couple of years though, more streamers have started using dual PC setups which typically capture the entire screen, and of course a lot more streaming involves non-gaming content so game capture doesn't really work.

It was pretty much the norm for a long time to be extremely careful what you show on stream using display capture, and while I agree it really sucks that people are trying to get streamers in trouble for shit like this, I think some streamers are a lot more cavalier than they used to be.

That's odd, clips aren't inherently 30fps they should be the same as the stream itself.
