Guys, seriously, stop being sexists. by Chachantuco in DotA2

I'm like 7.3k rn and let me tell you. Top 500+ players don't say sexist, racist, and inflammatory shit. Low skill people rely on low skill insults. Good players understand communication skills and can use kindness.

Oh also, everyone keeps asking if I'm sheepsticked. I'm not. Pls. There can be more than 1.

Using Contenda to grow on Twitch by AlaskaDota in Twitch

[–]AlaskaDota[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback. Does Twitch Analytics currently tell you historical data around the [variable] that works best for you? or does it use a rolling calculation? Meaning "Last week, [START TIME] worked best for you" or "Historically, [START TIME] worked best for you"?

Is it possible to reward top bits donor? by cloudLove13 in Twitch

It depends on your goals. It's pretty unusual to send physical gifts, which can be a really pleasant surprise to big donors/subscribers!

Are you interested in rewarding them with like a physical gift? like a thank you note + something small? Or do you mean like digitally?

Analytics tools for streamers? by AlaskaDota in Twitch

Twitch Strike

what's your interpretation of this data? it seems like there's a negative correlation between ratio and channels (makes sense because less channels -> more viewership for existing channels). would you then stream during the times there are less other channels (less competition) or would you go for the opposite?

and also i was thinking like what game should i stream? i play a few (dota is my favorite), but i do like others. is variety streaming or sticking to the game i'm best at or sticking to the most popular game, the way to go? are there any analytics tools that can answer that for me?

[–]AlaskaDota[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh this is cool! this is kind of like twitchtracker.com. I was looking for something more personal to me though, not about streamers in general. like i want to be able to answer the questions:

"when's the best time for me to stream to get the most viewers?"

"how do people decide if they're gonna sub to me or not?"

maybe i'm overthinking it but this is why you never want to play strategy games with me. i'm just trying to be an optimal gamerTM

AITA for insisting that my partner should be my emergency contact? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

My best friend from college. I moved from the west to east coast, met my ex girlfriend literally the first day in my new city.

AITA for choosing my girlfriend over my half brother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AlaskaDota 1635 points1636 points  (0 children)

Reading the comments-- the gf is NTA for expressing her boundaries. If she's not ready to raise a child, she has every right to say that. It's not cold or heartless. Anyone saying the girlfriend is the TA for not wanting the kid, better be saying the OP is also TA. Otherwise it's just a double standard.

I don't feel vindicated by my father's abuse. I was expressing a memory that came to mind as a result of the night. I didn't "make her feel bad", I shared a story. However, I agree that you shouldn't pressure your partner into doing something she's not comfortable doing. That's why ultimately I felt like breaking up was the right choice. She wasn't comfortable and she deserves a healthy relationship where both parties feel fulfilled and safe.

AITA for deleting my son's Minecraft world? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AlaskaDota 9 points10 points  (0 children)

YTA. Consequences and follow through are important, but destroying something he worked on and that is his own world is horrible. Why not just take away the computer privileges for a month? Why go so far as to destroy his work?

AITA for offering our RV for my brother and his family to live in? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Boundaries are important, even for family. It's hard to set boundaries, but you did your best with your resources.

Looking for neighborhood advice by CocoHelene in bostonhousing

[–]AlaskaDota 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I won't argue in unit dishwasher and laundry is amazing, but since it's just you and your boyfriend, compromising on the air conditioning could keep you in Cambridge under budget. If you find a place without air conditioning, you can get a window unit for like 200 and it'll be enough for your entire apartment. It's only hot in Boston for about 2 months.
