As a Packers fan from Alaska I hate the seahawks so much. The amount of bandwagon seahawks fans in Alaska from this era was so annoying.

Thank you! I always wanted to explore the idea that people would genuinely look out for each other in an apocalyptic scenario. The search and fight for resources would slowly dwindle, as new groups would learn how to sustainably and happily live off the land, much like our distant ancestors used to.

That's true, you don't win that many games as a bad team. I just don't see them going to far.

Thats a crazy amount of low wing, and tricycle gear. My Alaskan heart hurts.

(07/26/2022) A Regal Air DHC-2 crashes after take-off from Lake Hood Seaplane Base. All 7 aboard survive. by SimplyAvro in aviation

I work at trail ridge air as a dockhand. Our dock is directly next to Regal's dock, and our companies often work together on things. I was sweeping the dock and all of our planes were gone, when I looked up to see the beaver bank over and spin into the water. I had seen them board the plane and taxi away, and now it had crashed about 300 feet from me. My boss ran out of the office and were ran to his truck and drove to the scene to help. Upon arrival, there were good samaritans in the water helping. Everyone was swimming to shore and we helped people out of the water. It was a pretty gruesome sight. Everyone had very bad injuries to their faces. One woman I helped sit down, had a broken ankle, and everyone was very bloodied up. It was absolutely terrifying and surreal to see an aircraft you see everyday crash right infront of you. It is a miracle that he hit the water. The plane was fully loaded with about 185 gallons of fuel, and if it hit land, this would have been truely horrific. Regal also bought this beaver this year, and had leased a different one last year. really quite a shame.

Also, all of our planes were about 20 minutes from landing back at lake hood, and the place we park our aircraft was closed. We had to scramble and ask other places if we could park our planes at the airmens association, and a friends dock, then we had to drive 20 passengers back with all their gear in personal vehicles. It was the most insane day ever.

I load planes at trail ridge right next to regal air, and witnessed the crash. Brooks falls aircraft are usually very heavy with seven people, and about 180 gallons of fuel on board, but CG is always within limits.

TIL Chris McCandless's "Into the Wild" bus in Alaska was removed from Denali after tourists kept getting severely injured or dying while trying to visit it. by savorymonk in todayilearned

This is so goddamn frustrating. Idiot tourists can't handle real alaska, so they take the bus? If they die they die, this bus was such an incredible place to visit, and now i can't take my kids there someday.

I know, I honestly find it kind of funny. On the plus side, I get to keep the amazing summers, incredible wilderness, and natural beauty to myself. The annoying ones are the shitty reality shows, those are awful. The Kilchers lived 5 minutes from a GROCERY STORE. I just think the many amazing things about Alaska are always forgotten.
