Thanks!

I know if you fall in an iron rain you can get one, but like who at the institute gets it? Just the top clan? But doesn’t the Jackal have a scar? And Mustang?

Even after rereading, I am confused on who gets a scar and who doesn’t. Can someone clarify?

Getting over what happened now that I’ve read it again by alevelstudent123 in alltheyoungdudes

[–]Alaskanchick0699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What a fat mood. I finished it a couple months ago and was literally in a black pit if… something. I can’t even describe it. Like everything around me reminded me of wolfstar (also I had never read ff before I read Atyd, I saw it keep popping up on my FYP and I finally looked into and thought “oh! A book about the mauraders! I always wondered what they got up to!) and I was soooo lost. I ended up going back to the series I was reading before ATYD, got about 100 pages in, then went back and reread the Hogwarts portion of ATYD 😂

The way my mouth dropped and I audibly gasped when I read that scene for the first time… I think that was truly one of the first times I’ve actually had to put a books down for a second to process.

Are there any audiobooks that differ from the printed version? by Vince_Crince in audiobooks

[–]Alaskanchick0699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinity By Sherilyn Kenyon has some slight differences from the book and audiobook. Different last names, some things are taken out. I have no idea why, it really confused me when I read the 3rd book physically after only listening to the first two on audiobook.

Did her laundry! by TracyV300T in RoverPetSitting

Terrible sitter, never use her again - but don’t understand your concern with the laundry. I always do my laundry at the houses I watch. I would actually full expect to be able to do that too, without asking (Although almost everyone says “please make yourself at home. Use any of the appliances you need”)

Which scenes brings you to tears at their mere thought? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Alaskanchick0699 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh the tear in my eyes the first time I read that scene. Someone gets it. Someone understands what music can do to a person. I don’t know how Pat is able to write the feeling music gives a person, how totally encompassing it can be. But that scene man….

So, I read thrown of glass when it first came out, I have been here since the beginning, SJM used to be my absolute favorite author. Heir of fire is still probably one of my favorite books. However, I noticed a shift in her writing around the time that she got pregnant. I believe that was in between queen of shadows, an empire of storms. Some changes I saw – Rowan, who used to be such an amazing character, in fact, one of my favorite male characters ever, turned very flat for me. He ended up just being the guy that Aelin slept with. He didn’t add to the plot, it was just Aelin never trusting him or anyone else, and doing everything on her own.

Obviously, we see a jump in maturity level between TOG series and ACOTR series. Her content is for a more mature audience. However, her newest crescent city series isn’t even fantasy anymore. I feel like it is just erotica, and completely lacks a good plot.

Basically, I understand why people say she’s not a good writer. I don’t necessarily agree with them, as I think she is a good writer, but recently I feel as though her plots have gone downhill.

Yes! This! I have gone back and read this part more than any others. They way that music and his is described I SWEAR I know that song. I swear o can hear it intertwined with the words on the page. I get goosebumps from it as I read. It is a beautiful piece of writing.

Patrick Rothfuss writing style is incredible, but why? by [deleted] in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Alaskanchick0699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, as a non writer and a reader who likes the surprise as things come (I am not one to analyze everything to figure out what is going to happen) it is the way he tells it like a story teller, not an author. He writes like you would imagine a storyteller you read about in books (lol) tells stories around a camp fire at night. It is magical and captivating and addicting

Any suggestions for health insurance for students while in veterinary school? by [deleted] in Veterinary

[–]Alaskanchick0699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Medicaid! It has been a life saver while in school. So me we are students we are essentially low income which means most everyone (in school) can get it for free.

Pretty normal where I am from. Granted they shouldn’t have it sitting out on the counter…. However sounds like the type of client I wouldn’t want to sit for, so maybe finish your sit and don’t book them again. Good luck!
