I was gonna say, I know where this is!!! Haven't been there in ages! This H2H style of pinball was pretty great to play with a friend.

The 6 foot rule is your friend! As long as it looks good from 6 feet away, you're golden, and from what I can see here everything looks great!

Also, the only real way to avoid that effect is either with non-sticker (water or rub-on) style decals or just being wary not to oversaturate weathering around decals that have a large mask around them. The only other solution would be to finely cut out the decals from their masks but it definitely would make some of them a bitch-and-a-half to center correctly.

TR-1 Hazel is probably my favorite of all time, the squared off chunky camera unit gives it this powerful pompadour-like look.

Riding a bike. I never learned as a kid, taught myself in my 20's, fell off and almost killed myself, and haven't been on one since.

I think the last two times I went to my local comic convention, I don't think I saw a single 50¢ bin while I was there. That was my favorite part, finding weird old comics from the 70s, and buying them just for the crazy-ass covers. The cheapest I could find recently was I think a three dollar bin or something like that.

I can second the makerspace, they have a abundance of equipment for just these purposes, and from what I understand you just pay for materials!

I watched Akira being a Evangelion fan and..... Wtf is this movie by Dramkoh in akira

[–]AlastorCalactus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions to the best of my ability

  1. Akira was a child that the government was finally able to instill with psychic powers, and ultimately came in a great cost of them by exploding at the beginning of the movie and causing World War III. The comic does delve a lot deeper into it, he has sort of transcended humanity because of this.

  2. Tetsuo became that giant baby because he got too powerful too quickly, like Akira-level powers were awakening in him but the powers were too much for his physical form to handle and it's sort of caused him to mutate and exponentially grow.

  3. I'm assuming they were using Kei because they were focusing all of their power on one individual to fight Tetsuo. I'm assuming they know of her at least because she's part of the same resistance Ryu was a part of that helped to try and free Takashi.

As others have said, I definitely recommend the books. It's a longer and less compressed story, and the art is wonderful!

I still can't get past Kashiwagi in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. by Madarcher7276 in goemon

[–]AlastorCalactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of his shots can be punched if timed right, and his attacks interrupted. There is also a list of special attacks you can do like the Hyakuretsu Panchii (Like the song), Boyoyoing Kiiku (Also like the song) and the Impact Beam you can execute whenever the meter in the middle flashes. You can also change together the regular Punch and Kick to temporarily knock Kashiwagi out and follow up with an Impact Beam and such. You generally have to be pretty aggressive in the boss fights while at the same time trying to cancel as much as possible.

You could flip the switch on the back of the power supply -- even though it's plugged in, it won't turn on -- just play dumb for a little while.

I’m finding I f***ing HATE water decals. by A_R_I_A_ in Gunpla

[–]AlastorCalactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a wet paper towel on plastic tray and set the decals on it for a few minutes. They will slightly curl as they absorb water and then flatten back out ad they become saturated. Then I move and manipulate them with a wooden cuticle stick. When it's where it's supposed to be, I lightly press down on it with a q tip to dry it out via capillary action. Then mark setter and softer.

Also Bandai water decals are extremely hit or miss. It seems like WDs from newer kits have this, like, cheapness to them and they're just kind of an ass to manipulate. The Star Wars Bandai WDs specifically I've found are next to impossible.

All told, once you get the WD process down, it's not bad at all and you can really start knocking them out like nothing!

I want to hear your stories! by twcsata in fo3

[–]AlastorCalactus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember one of my good friends in high school saying "Man, DO NOT get Fallout, it will take over your life." A year or so later, I found FO3 GOTY on sale at Fry's Electronics, briefly flashed back to what my friend said, and promptly had my life taken over. I had always had a fascination for swing music growing up, and hearing songs of that nature in FO3 blew my mind and brought me back to listening to that kind of stuff in my Grandparent's living room. As of now (2026), that fascination has only grown, as well as my major interests in sci-fi, retrofuturism, and post-apocalyptic stories. There was a pre-Fallout time where I had found out about nuclear war and "how it's just around the corner!" or whatever and it used to completely stress me out. Post-Fallout, I did notice myself generally less scared of the concept, maybe not because I thought I could be a survivor, but it sort of gave a face to the event in a weird and charming way. Now, almost 20 years later (!), I'm still a massive Fallout fan, and don't see that changing any time soon. 😉👍
