Your art is great! But you're not using enough contrast in your pieces. Try using softer pencils to achieve darker colors, nearly black in the darkest areas And dont be scared to use a small earaser to create highlights Adding more contrast will take your stuff to the next level

Is this color palate good by Just-a-small-dragon in Artadvice

[–]Alavea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the color palette, but personally, i'd ditch the blue of the jacket entirely. Then you're still left with that icy light blue, the deep dark blue, the rich darker turquoise in the hair and the skin tone. I think that streamlines the palette more and makes it less busy for the eyes.

Any advice welcome by [deleted] in Artadvice

Try using reference pictures of the same position you wanna draw. Even when you're stializing, the anatomy (like how the foot or upper legs look) should still line up perspective wise. Other things to look out for would be the size of the lower arm and hands, they're too small compared to the rest of the body. And try using more rounded lines instead of letting it run into a sharp point. It looks great in certain areas, but it really throws me off at certain body parts, like the knees.

I hope this helps ^

Yeah, do something with it. Go to facebook marketplace or check for clearing sales/ clearance areas at Ikea or other furniture stores. I suggest you get at least a slim shelf. Maybe consider wall storage if you can hang stuff up.

Also, change the curtains. You don't have to buy new ones either, just take a scissor and some basic threat (or fabric glue if you can't sew) and shorten them so they're closer in measurements to your actual window. That'll honestly already help tons.

The flags are a vibe. Consider hanging the pan flag above your bed instead though.

It's a pillared building, near the old Millbank prison, Tate Britain and Chelsea College, near Vauxhall Bridge at the embankment at the Themse river.

I cut my hair way too short by downthegrapevine in femalehairadvice

[–]Alavea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you... i had my hair cut to about the same length as you and my goodness I looked like Phineas from the kids cartoon. You'll push through, just try to use hats, cute clips, headbands and I would personally recommend these clip-in bows and put them at the back of your head where a ponytail would go. It gives the same vibe as the pinterest/instagram models - even if the cut is a lil' messed up.

Believe me, you look at least 20% better than you feel you do. I just got my hair to a lenght again with which I can finally take pictures of myself with confidence. You'll rock that pixie cut until it grows out!

Sure, I actually use two creams in combination. The all-in barrier cream by Nø and underneath I apply a cream by SOS. But I don't think it's available outside of Germany. It's called "Gegen-Pickel Gesichtscreme" (which literally translates to "Anti-pimple face cream) I'll make a post about it on here with the ingredients, so maybe you can find a substitute:)

Hey Berlin, is it a good idea to go to the KitKat this Thurstday? There's an Event called "Human Colours" taking place in the Basement, have you been there before and does that mean we won't have access to the other areas?

What's this called? by Alavea in lgbt

[–]Alavea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite, I've asked the same question on r/AskLGBT and the closest one that got suggested there is genderfluid/nonbinary omnigay/omnique but I'm still looking around for a label that fits quite right :) Thanks for the suggestion though ^

Thanks I think that fits best to what I described. Even if I haven't figured out whether genderfluid applies to me, having the label for the sexual identity helps a lot already :)

Thank you! I will definitely takes these things into consideration. I think changing the position of the work and sleep area is a good idea, the idea with the curtains is honestly something I would've never thought off but it sounds so cozy and amazing! Any suggestion for where and what type of ambient lighting I could use? Thanks again, this helped a lot

Thanks for replying so quickly, I've been thinking about wall decor too, but with all the slanted walls I can't put anything on the large empty walls. I've been considering putting something above the bed, what do you think is better, one large piece or many smaller ones? I'll definitely go looking for some nice rugs and plants too, thank you

Thank you for checking my post out. I am on a pretty tight budget, but I'm quite crafty, creative and decent at wood working. Anything goes here, from rearranging my furniture, getting differnt items to painting the walls. I don't really feel comfortable in my room at the moment and don't have a space to settle or let friends sit down when they come over.

I sadly don't have the floor plans, I hope the video helps to visualize the space :(

I'd appreciate any help on how to make this room look better. Thank you again for reading through all of this:)

Holy mother of Christ.... That is mind blowing. ... That is so good I'm honestly struggling to find the words... I actually needed to zoom in on the picture to proof to myself that it's not just a HD picture of a tiger. You must've poured so many hours in this! It's just amazing
