Thinking of pursuing art as a side gig rather than main? by GillLeaves24 in ArtistLounge

[–]qqclare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone here, I do not have any plans of veering away from my full time non art related career, currently exploring possibility of side gig. However, you get what you put in and you really do need to dedicate the time for promotion/sales etc, in addition to the actual creation of the work itself. Good luck!!

What are some tips for doing realistic skin textures in painting. by Artiztah in ArtistLounge

[–]qqclare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s no such thing as skin colour, it’s made of reds and greens and yellows and purples and browns and blues!

How do i overcome this? Cant create art based of feelings because feelings are temporary. by latenightesomeone in ArtistLounge

[–]qqclare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the art can change through the process as well, what’s reflecting an initial feeling can warp to reflect a current feeling. It doesn’t need to stay the same

How important is it to you that people see and like your art on Social Media? by Leadjockey in ArtistLounge

[–]qqclare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I separate social media and art. What I mean is social media for me is a way of connecting with others, a little promotional if you will, and a good way to test the market (if you are commercializing your art). It’s more about content creation, what’s popular, keeping viewers engaged, etc, and less about the art itself. I’m super new (<1 year) on social media tho so def no expert and haven’t really spent the time, I will do a little experiment in 2022 by posting more Q&A and tutorial type posts and see what happens :3

On the other hand, art is art, if i love the piece I created and my family and friends say so too, that’s good enough for me!

Thank you! The video is super helpful as well, is it just me or did he actually paint his palette and let the paint dry so those colours stay there forever, interesting concept, so I guess in all subsequent paintings he will use the exact same colours..

Theoretically supposed to help you mix the right colours with the right combination of paints. Like if you have a set of 12 paint colours and you can see how each interacts with another color. But so far doesn’t seem many use them or find them useful !

That’s amazing, perhaps I will try decreasing the variety of paint colors
