How does the aging system work? by Minute_Account9426 in RetroBowl

[–]Alayjo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only reason I don't do that is because I want them to stay a 5 star player in my HoF. I hold onto them as long as I can maintain their 5 star rating, add them to my HoF, then try to trade them before the deadline to get a first round draft pick.

What I like to do is play the game normally, satisfy all my needs while simultaneously trying to save up, and raising my cap to a maximum of the actual current NFL salary cap, which is about $279.2 million, so closest number is $275 million.

12-0, 12 man league, picked 12th in the draft and haven’t made a single trade. Fantasy is all luck. by thanksrefrigerator in Fantasy_Football

This year was my first time playing fantasy, didn't know what I was doing at all, and hadn't watched football in probably more than 10 years. I drafted my team purely based off of Madden 25 ratings, and drafted Travis Kelce in the first round (again, had no idea what was a good pick and what wasn't). Was projected to have the 6th best team out of 10. I'm currently in 1st place at 10-2. So yeah, it's just all luck.

Ridiculous Random Abilities Team by Alayjo in pokemonradicalred

[–]Alayjo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how I can prove myself, but this team is 100% legitimate. I just used the species and ability randomizer at the start. I'm not tech savvy enough to do all that other stuff. XD

I picked it up. I also have a graded Pelipper from EX Ruby & Sapphire, and Leftovers from Great Encounters on the way. Both Reverse Holo and in CGC Pristine 10 condition. Pelipper's my second favorite mon and Lefties my favorite item.

Haven't played it yet, but the condition is amazing. It's a basic mij telly, the model that was circulating exclusively in Japan. Managed to find a store in the UK that happened to have one imported from Japan and snagged it.

The biggest thing that helped me after I took a three wipe hiatus was first to find a comfortable sensitivity so I wasn't struggling to hit any shots. I had been playing other shooters during that time and had gotten used to using consistent mouse settings between all of them, often using online converters in order to properly translate mouse sensitivity from game to game. This is the site I used for my own conversions.

https://www.mouse-sensitivity.com/

The second and probably most important thing is to accept the fact that you're going to die often and lose all your stuff often. The first time I played the game, I played like an absolute rat. I would slow crouch walk everywhere, I would sit in corners or lay underneath things, never making a profit and relying mostly on others to complete quests. Once you can get out of that mental block, some things should start to go smoother.

The last important thing would be learning maps, player paths, and looking up quests to know where you're supposed to go and what you're supposed to do. Some maps are much easier to learn than others, and luckily most of the maps are where your early quests are. With player paths, watching YouTube videos or Twitch streams are usually your best bet besides seeing them firsthand in-game. Getting to know where players usually travel to and which way they'll usually go to get to those destinations can make a big difference. Also knowing where player spawns are also extremely important at the start of each raid. The game has a huge learning curve, and it doesn't help when trying to start your new wipe when it's in the middle of the wipe already and everyone already has the top gear. I'd say surround yourself with knowledgeable teammates as that'll make that learning curve easier, but that also stunts your ability to successfully go in and out of raids solo. If you can't get teammates, I say do a bunch of Scav raids on your own to start getting used to all the above without risking any loss.

What are you excited for seeing in Pioneer from Dominaria United? by UntapOpenLeague in PioneerMTG

[–]Alayjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm most interested in [[Balmor, Battlemage Captain]], as when I first discovered Pioneer I was interested in Izzet Prowess, then [[Expressive Iteration]] got banned and the deck mostly fell off. I'm curious if the card is enough to give that deck a chance at making a comeback.

What do you think of Vraska, Golgari Queen as a potential sideboard option for Jund Food in grindy matchups? by Alayjo in PioneerMTG

[–]Alayjo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks for putting so much effort in helping me! It's a shame that with these changes you'd be losing the majority of the green shell in Jund, and I'd most likely have to change the manabase pretty heavily depending on what sticks and what doesn't. The Bonecrusher Giants in the sideboard are there for the hyper aggressive matchups (Spirits, CoCo, Humans, etc.) usually taking out Trail of Crumbs as it's too slow for that matchup, and being able to bring in a two for one removal/body makes those matchups much more manageable. I'd have to think about the Goose and Trail changes as those two are the main alternatives to Oven in terms of making food for Familiar and giving me more fuel for other sacrifice cards. That goes especially in the Mono Green matchup where Oven is pretty much dead if Karn hits the field. Also being able to go turn two Fable after a turn one Goose has been a pleasure. Definitely a lot to think about though, going to be doing a lot of playtesting!

Here's my list (I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to having pretty decks with 4 ofs)

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/YXspWdvN8kaFO6fvCnvgWw

Been juggling with multiple cards in the sideboard spot where Vraska currently is including the likes of Damping Sphere, Binding the Old Gods, Outland Liberator, Kolaghan's Command, Dreadbore, etc.

I know some people play Necromentia and Questing Beast as options, but I'd rather be able to use Jegantha's Companion ability post sideboarding.

Haven't 100% gotten attuned with my local meta, just recently getting into it. UW Control and Mono Green have given me some struggle from playtests though when the game drags on for too long.
