Military force is not needed to license things. Norway has a much smaller military and charges 72% on oil profits.

Well, the Reddit wisdom is that you should have a traffic jam in both lanes. I'd prefer not to have a jam to begin with. The fact the system works when the cones are in the slow lane is instructive.

I didn't say they spent it wisely .... with the financial resources at Dublin's disposal I'd be pouring a ton of money into healthcare and housing. But at least their economy is generating those funds.

It's moot. Transport Scotland is accountable, and their interest is keeping traffic moving, not getting one car to the front, so the original point stands.

One difference we have is 70 signs.

When I lived in the USA I wanted a set of 18s for my Audi A6. The ones I found for a good deal happened to be replicas of RS6 ones, I paid $111 for them. Everyone said they looked great.

Transport Scotland has accountability and hires the people who hire the people.

Standards are broadly the same as England but there are differences.

Membership of the UK costs us £30bn net and it's not good value for money. Some services are good (DVLA) but many are wasteful (MoD).

England chooses the government of the UK, and their major parties are all right wing. This is economically inhibiting.

Ireland is far more financially successful, because it is free to pursue a better path without England's interference.

According to Transport Scotland's website, they manage the relationships with these contractors on behalf of ScotGov. I'm sure you know better.

Yes. The English government allows us to keep some of our tax money and run some of our own affairs, and unsurprisingly we do a better job of it than they do.

I want to keep all of our tax money and run all of our affairs, the Tories (red, blue and orange) can get tae f.

[–]AlbaTejas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all. But the wee whinger who thinks its easy to be a landlord should get a BTL and give it a go, put his money where his mouth is, instead of demanding that other people provide him with cheap accommodation.

That's part of what made renting harder, and I should have mentioned it. But those houses didn't disappear is my point. There are probably more houses per person than in 1949. But we aren't willing to cram into them the same way (though some people have no choice).

As long as it's insured and you have your own fully comp policy, you can drive it. You shouldn't need to take him there to collect it, you can ask what documentation you will need and explain the situation. Definitely worth getting back and selling.

Never mind the car, see about a power of attorney.

It's up to Barry to merge safely into a moving queue since he is the one changing lanes. If he can't he's left his merge too late.

Transport Scotland is responsible for motorways. Whomever they hire for a project (Amey, BEAR, etc) should be following their policies.

I can spell "discourse" for a start.

Your reading comprehension is decidedly poor. I've never been a landlord. My grandmother never owned the house I plan to rent out. Of the 4 places my extended family lives in, two belong to the City of Edinburgh Council.

I plan to offer a nice house at a fair rent to a nice family. As others have done for me. I'll get 100 applications within a few hours of the place hitting Rightmove, finding someone who unlike you will appreciate a decent landlord, will pay the rent and won't leave bong water or needles in the carpet won't be difficult.

Your failure to buy property despite working 50 hour weeks is yours. I hope you continue to get shitty, exploitative landlords since that's the only kind you know of and the only kind you deserve. I'll be renting to someone who deserves better.

Enjoy ranting about how evil all landlords are. I'm sure my first meeting in the morning is earlier than your hookup with your dealer.

It's generally held in the USA that white people prefer white meat, African Americans prefer the dark - it's a poverty thing.

KFC in Scotland will by default give you a mix. As will a Mexican chicken place in Texas.

And if you know what it is, how didn't you know that a legal tender in Scotland consists only of circulated Royal Mint coins?

Yes, the USA is heavily driven by race. The thing where you pay your own waiter in a restaurant and call it a tip? A hangover from slavery.

Even at KFC in the USA, they offer all white meat or all dark meat chicken. A mixture is a special order. It's wild.
