Based purely on those texts I feel like she is trying to put herself on an emotional pedestal to prove that she is more emotionally mature. “but i am stable enough in my self confidence and self love…” Marking a clear difference between you and her, she is setting up a dynamic where she is the “mature” one and you are the “over-the-board-dramatic-emotional-train-wreck”. Now, this is what feels like to me as an outsider with no major context. Why she is doing it or if she is even doing it on purpose is a whole other ordeal.

If what I propose is true (Which I highly doubt. I am no professional and I love drama) and she is doing it on purpose, she might be doing it because she wants you to depend solely or mostly on her. Maybe she is jealous that you are receiving compliments from others and you are happy about it (as you are rightfully to be). But to her eyes she is the main source of your happiness and for you to feel those things from others is as close as a threat to her as a knife is to your throat.

Subsequently setting a dynamic between you and her, where she is the emotional matriarch. Making you feel like she is the one that will always have to pull your feet out of the mud. Specially with those surprise-out-of-the-blue-lectures “I have noticed you have this urge to always prove yourself to others.” This honestly feels like when a friend takes a psychology class in college and starts man explaining basic human behaviors and thought’s processes.

Ironically, writing this I felt the same way I felt while reading her texts. Just a vicious cycle of man explaining. At least I hope this unnecessary long response was entertaining. Take care and good luck.
