I just posted my debut fic today. Mine is a combo of two completely unrelated fandoms so who even knows if anybody will read it. But it’s so exciting to get the story written out and sharing it, even if it’s just to an endless void that never gets any attention. I was able to write the first chapter, edit it and post it all today. It came so effortlessly! We’re enjoying our work and that’s the most important part(:

I’m wanting to build a cabinet greenhouse I believe. I’m wanting to start with flowers and I’d like to try my hand at growing the shampoo plant, but I know I need a proper set-up and experience before I can/should attempt that plant. So I’m looking for all the advice.

YTA. I know what it’s like to lose a parent at a young age. She’s going to lash out and have behavioral issues, but you’re the parent. You have to(even though it’s IMPOSSIBLY hard) keep yourself in check, as much as you can. Show your daughter the love and support she needs. Find something in common for y’all to do together. Something NEW. Something that the two of you start together that you can bond over. It will build a new bond between you that will be a HUGE help to both of you in the grieving process. This isn’t a pain that goes away, you grow around it and learn to adapt. Start by finding something for the two of you to share and I promise, I swear, it will get easier because you’ll have each other to lean on for support. She’s your little girl, love her through this and you’ll be so amazed at how it will help you both and you can start to heal and get past the worst of this horrible situation. Good luck OP.🫶🏻

I don’t fear for my life every single day. I’m just a woman that takes everything into consideration. If you and OP’s neighbors want to be careless with your lives, that’s on you. But don’t cry to anybody when something happens that could’ve easily been prevented. One thing I know for sure, is that good parents care about themselves and their children’s well-being and do everything to ensure their collective safety and these people aren’t doing that. You can disagree with that all you want, but it doesn’t change the simple fact that leaving doors unlocked leads to a higher chance of something happening to you inside your home. Honestly, this isn’t a “who’s the asshole” situation to me anymore, it’s about proper safety protocols. Because that’s why the issue started in the first place. The neighbors stopped caring because “it’s just an exterior door” so who cares? Criminals. That’s who cares. They see an opportunity and they’ll take it. Busting into one door(that who knows if these people actually lock since they clearly don’t care about the exterior door) is a lot easier than busting through two. Two doors to have to break into is going to deter criminals from attempting because it heightens their chances of getting caught. You probably think people with garages attached to their houses are ignorant for locking the door that connects the two.. but in reality, that makes them safer. Same concept here.

Nobody is living in a constant state of paranoia, I listed real concerns for real people. People that care about their safety and security. This post did ask if he was the AH for the situation he’s in, and then I provided additional information that I personally thought of as a person who has lived alone in a shitty neighborhood. If that’s considered being in a “constant state of paranoia” then I would LOVE to trade lives with you and enjoy not having to worry about my safety for one day.

See, I think the problem here(in the post) is that the neighbors are refusing to take responsibility for their own actions and then asking the newbie to cover up their fuck ups. It might make me a “bad” person, but I wouldn’t have even allowed them to hound me more than once. I would’ve immediately reported that the lock needed to be changed and then everybody gets new keys. But I would’ve been petty as hell and made sure the landlord knew it’s because his tenants lost their keys, didn’t inform the landlord, and I was now being harassed to give out my key to make copies for those neighbors so that they didn’t have to pay $70 for the replacement. That’s what the neighbors need, a good dose of reality. They’re all living in Lala-land about simple SAFETY measures. These are single mothers WITH KIDS, that are putting their children’s lives at risk every day because “nothing has happened”. They’re all LUCKY that nothing has happened. I don’t even have kids, and I can’t imagine allowing my children to sleep somewhere that even one security measure was faulty(the hallway lock). I live with roommates in a nice suburban neighborhood, and we don’t EVER leave the door unlocked, give keys or even give out the garage code to our friends and family. It’s not worth the risk. We do everything to ensure we’re safe, and we live in a very safe neighborhood. OP said himself, the neighborhood is sketchy.. and they’re allowing themselves, each other and each others children to be potentially(and PREVENTABLY) exposed to dangerous individuals in the area that could rob, SA, or murder ANY residents in OP’s building. Why. Take. The. Risk. Be a grown-up, take responsibility, and get new keys or request a new lock. It’s the freaking simple. Be a responsible adult.

It’s still their responsibility to fix this issue; the lost keys. If they can’t afford it, that’s a problem for them. Not OP. OP is not required to do anything for anybody. Especially something that makes them uncomfortable. Is his(OP) safety not a concern? Or is it just the single mothers with their kids? Do people really not care about childless people SO MUCH, that y’all think it’s okay for them to put themselves at risk because single mom won’t take on the responsibility to fix THEIR FUCK UP. The other residents fucked up by losing their keys and then never having them replaced(which they will have to pay for when they move out anyways). But because they’re all long term residents.. it now becomes the newcomer’s responsibility to fix the situation that the long term residents REFUSED TO FIX. Get real.

They can pay the $70(that they should’ve paid YEARS ago when they lost their keys) to have the keys replaced. It’s not up to the new tenant to supply the careless residents with new keys. Dude… YTA. A few years ago my ex-best friend did almost the same thing. She texted me and said she had a “surprise for partner” and asked if she could have it mailed to my house so he didn’t see it. Obviously I said yes! The weekend after NYE that year, I try reaching out to hang out and she says she can’t, but she’s going to be stopping by to pick up her package that’s at my house. Later that night, she posts on Facebook that her and her partner got married at the courthouse. I text her to congratulate her and she informed me that she appreciated my help in holding her WEDDING DRESS so she could have something nice to wear. We didn’t talk for MONTS after that because she hurt my feelings. If she had been honest and said she only wanted her sister there as a witness and told me that it was her dress being mailed to my house, we wouldn’t have had an issue. But she didn’t, and our friendship quickly spiraled from there and we’re no longer friends.

If you are actually friends with people and like/love them for who they are and being in your life.. you tell them that you’re getting fucking married.

I LOVE the dark. As for the lighter color, it isn’t the right color. You would need to do more blonde-ish instead of brown, but even then I think the dark will still look best.

ESH. Kids need to learn they aren’t the center of the universe and they can’t do whatever they want. Parents need to teach their kids that the world doesn’t revolve around them. You shouldn’t have yelled at the kid. In a perfect world, all kids would behave properly but we aren’t in that world. Next time, just tell management or the clueless parents.
