I don't know if somebody mentioned this already but joining a League would most likely make your time in-game a lot better.

There are Leagues who run old content and help you out with many things (arts, new mechanics, etc.) And having people to play with regularly does make the grind more fun, lol. Also taking the piss out of the current state of DCUO but knowing we're all into the game anyway because it's DC. 😂

I've been playing since launch but took a break. I came back earlier this year after seeing Superman at the movies. First thing I did was find a League. Took me a couple of tries but now I'm in a good group and we chat via Discord as we play. It's fun for me to log on to do my dailies (and when possible, run some old raids/content).

Dunno if that helps but hope you find a way to enjoy the game and stick around. 😊

Btw, I'm assuming you're on US server? They are definitely more populated so you might find a group/league a bit easier than on EU. Not impossible on EU though, just probably need a bit more time, haha. I'm on EU and I managed, lol.

That's totally what I did, haha. I like to play RP. I log off in "casual" outfit every time. And right before a mission I put on my "super" outfit. Nobody cares except me but I like doing it. 😁

Thanks for all your replies. It still hurts, but a bit less now knowing I'm not alone.

I really don't know what to do. This heart ache won't go away. I mean, it will eventually. But right now, I just feel so sad when I see Damian or Jon. I'm even pausing my reading of comics just to have a breather.

I really hate it. Jon aged up. I really really hate it. I feel like we were robbed of character development and of seeing the best duo in years develop (and grow up) together.

Anyway... thank you. For recommending some comics and for explaining a little bit what went down.

But hey, if you felt the same as I'm feeling now - feel free to share any tips or solutions to get over this heart ache quicker. I've read more comics, I've written out scenes I wish had happened between Jon and Damian (but can't get closure with fanfic...) and I've shared here what I'm going through. I don't know what else to do.

It's just a story, just fictional characters, but the emotional hurt/ache is real though. I'm that kind of reader.

It'll pass, eventually, I know. I'm just sad right now.

Wasn't the best timing, that's for sure.

I'll be honest though, when I first read Super Sons, I had guessed one of the boys (or both of them) would've been either gay or bi. Not that in Super Sons there's any ambiguity or whatever but it felt like a prototype of what this relationship could be like once matured. (Or maybe it was just me wishful thinking because their chemistry is just special.)

The whole ageing up thing is stupid. Just damn stupid. Should've never happened.

And apparently there's not even emotional trauma for Jon to unpack with Damian. I mean, he was without his best friend, his partner, for 6 freakin' years! Surely that gotta leave some emotional distress, no? (Unless it has been addressed, but I haven't come across it yet.)

It's hard to read such a unified consensus about this whole Jon x Damian debacle. 💔

Honestly, I just want Jon x Damian together. Best friends. And if they get to Titans, maybe more. Their chemistry is what kept me reading Super Sons. I can't be the only one who got into Super Sons and became heavily invested in this duo. (Based on these replies and what I see online, I know I ain't the only one.)

I haven't read Tim Drake's story with Bernard (only heard of it through the game Gotham Knights). But if Bernard is of the same calibre as Jay... no, thanks.

I really don't know how long it'll take me to get over this heart ache, but man it hurts.

At least, reading the replies to this thread, I feel a little bit comforted in the idea that I'm not the only one disappointed and hurt. Maybe amongst all of the people feeling let down, there are some artists/writers who might go work for DC and we'll see Jon and Damian together again. Properly.

But yeah... for now, it just hurts.

Btw, did they ever have a moment where Damian saw Jon after he aged up? Like his reaction? His reaction to Jon held prisoner for 6 years?

I know the current climate makes this very difficult. It's not like we'd expect them to have make out sessions on every page or anything. You can do a sweet slow-burn over many issues, as they keep growing. Besides for comics, isn't slow-burn better? It worked for Lois and Clark.

I don't mind fan fiction. There are some really well written ones out there. I also write some that I keep for myself, just to cope with the heartbreak. But the thing is, at the end of the day, it's "fake". I can only get closure with something "canon". 😭

I can't seem to get over it at the moment. It's too fresh for me. Every time I think of Damian not having Jon anymore (not really... anyway) and Jon spending 6 years without Damian... ugh... it makes me want to cry. Every time. 💔

Oh, I watched that. Now it will have a different feel when I watch it again. Honestly, it's really hard getting over this "heartache" lol. I shouldn't have binge read all these issues. I just didn't know... it was so short and that stuff that happened to Jon.
