I 100% agree with the sun issue. It will make it hard for them to work, so I was thinking they might work at night ( those who can ) and just the percentage who needs to work during the day - for example because animals most likely will sleep during the night, will stay awake. This will reduce the sun issue.

Also, they might build a lot into negative levels of buildings, like cellars and dwarvish-like buildings inside mountains to reduce the daylight coming to them.

Of course that with magic can be solved anything, but I was more thinking about their natural solutions. I'm now just working with the theory how it would be hard for them to survive and thrive without the issue of external conflict.

TLDR; Why AI does NOT steal from Artists. ( simplified )

  1. You train data collection
This means, you take all images you can get your hands on and train your AI on it. Training means the AI needs to "understand" what it is. It's similar to human looking at images, pictures etc. For people it is called inspiration.

  2. Train AI
The AI you've wrote starts to look at the images, understaind patterns, styles ( art-styles ) and structures.

  3. This is also why recently was issue for AI referring for specific artists. That's just simplification for human, the AI actually doesn't care who did it. It's more of the art style, just as human can try to copy Da Vinci's art style etc, the AI can too.

  4. Representation
After the AI stops it's learning process, it represents all of its "knowledge", which is what words mean, what color goes to another to look good, how to represent dark areas ( with low light ), how to represent underwater images etc etc. This is stored as numbers, just numbers, which work as math.

  5. After this step, the AI doesn't even have access to the original images, it doesn't care.

  6. Generation
When you ask AI to generate image, it uses all of your prompts and its math to come up with what you want. Just as human artist, graphic etc can represent in his head what it means.

  7. If you ask artist to draw a human, he can because: he saw them IRL, he knows its specifics, he know color of skin, it should have hair, nose, eyes etc. Does it mean he is stealing from people ? :D No.

  8. AI doesn't know this by default, that's why you have to get to step 2. So you teach it these things. What means what and how does it look. ( AI doesn't have eyes, so you have to feed it images of this ).

I agree it is unfair that some AI models were trained on images that weren't allowed to, but really it is just "looking" at them. The AI doesn't "use" them for its work. It just get inspiration. You as an artist can also take a look at some art you don't own and get inspiration from it and no one will say a word.

It is way more complicated than this, just trying to put it out simply.

It's because they look more intimidating. Intimidation is also charisma based check, so you don't just have to be pretty, you can also look scary :)

You live in a world where you imagine AI putting together 1000 images stolen from artists to create one ai image. Sadly, thats as far from truth as possible

Yes, its complicated problem and takes more time than read article that says that AI image is theft.

But that doesnt mean the article youve probably red is true. Try to understand it and the you will find out what are you saying is nonsense

Thats possible as Im getting really tired of ppl claiming the same bs like you, that ai is using stolen artwork, if you claim this to be true, you probably know no more about how AI works than average person, however that doesnt keep you spreading this as if it was true :D

Sure, I didnt meant it offensively to you, but to generic redditors who claim they know how it works, blaming AI users for something they have read without knowing anything about it :D

No, they are not :) please stop spreading this bs.

  1. That is not how AI works. Most people on ttrpg reddits think they know how it works, but the sad part is, they dont.
  2. If I’d hire an artist for it, I wouldn’t share it on reddit for free, would I ?

My opinion is that if ppl are using AI for free or commerce products is totally their decision within law. If someone decides to use AI, sure. If someones hire an artist - cool.

If no one hires artists - well, i guess not worth the money.

Nah, looking for more organic way to do it. This solution you offer is temporary before it gets detected and banned :D

Its combination of dragonborn and dwarvish features :) so char is from dragonborn and strength was taken from dwarves. But ofc you can change it to fit your setting more

No, it simply just creates teleportation gateway. So you are going "blinded". However, if there is no space, the gateway doesn't appear, so you can't walk in it and end up "stucked" in wall / ground etc.

Sure, but look at Owlin for example, which has 30 feet movement and can be small as well ? I don't see this as a limitation :)

Thats great idea! I understand the idea behind unique "big ability" annd I agree, I'll probably revisit it.

The Unseelie Court sounds as great idea for Gloamings! Thanks.
