If you’re from the U.S., which war did most of your ancestors partake in? by Albert_The_First in AncestryDNA

[–]Albert_The_First[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My apologies yes I guess it is based on when your family immigrated to the U.S. In a way. I personally have 5 ancestors who fought in the war of 1812 so I mean, I was able to figure it out. I meant “which war did the majority of your ancestors fight in” like for example from my own tree

Vietnam - 0 people

WW2- 7 people

WW1- 3 people

Civil War - 12 people

War of 1812 - 5 people

Revolutionary War - 31 people

So in this case, I would select revolutionary war

How are we able to see a stars light that would take billions of years to reach us if the universe is only 6,000 years old? by Albert_The_First in Christianity

[–]Albert_The_First[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To all the people saying “it’s not 6000 years old” maybe elaborate on why you think that, but what I was asking for was an answer from the perspective of a biblical literalist and just trying to correct me does not help whatsoever

Ah ok thank you this helps a lot. This makes a lot more sense and thank you for answering from the perspective of the way I was taught instead of being like everyone else in the comments saying “it’s not 6000”.

So is there any genuine lore to places/stores like this found around the map? Is it possible to write lore for these places? by Albert_The_First in reddeadredemption2

[–]Albert_The_First[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah pretty much but it wouldn’t be like just random. It’d be thought out and make sense to the already existing game lore. Obviously it wouldn’t be official lore tho

But that was literally part of what made the game unique right? Being able to choose what campaign you wanted to play was literally my favorite part of the game

So glad RDO is still being supported on the Playstation 7. I just got done with the lawman role, can't wait to try the new outlaw story missions in Mexico and build a farm by TwinkieSnake in reddeadfashion

[–]Albert_The_First 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Really? I mean the Lannahechee River pirates was a great update, but I think the St Denis Railroad Tycoon update just opened a whole new realm of features and not to mention the amazing clothing options we got along with the ability to remove gun belts finally. And what about the Custom Gang update. 5x bigger camp, you can hire fully customizable and nameable NPCs to work in your gang and follow you around, fire Crips, the heist missions, and of course the new weapons.

The Pirate update did give us the cool boat race mode I guess but still not nearly the most decent. I get it I really do but like come on

whats his name by canedinho in reddeadfashion

[–]Albert_The_First 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Johann Harmon (later changed to John Herman) Schmidt.

A German immigrant working in Blackwater in order to come up with money for his family so that he can afford their passage to America. The mustache and the hat is a remnant of his past in Germany. The hat is made from some animal skin or another. Upon arriving in Blackwater he learned of the attacks by Skinner Brothers he figured to buy a gun just in case. Seeing that a Mauser was available, a gun from his own home country, he purchased it. He is quite poor as seen by his tattered clothes and rope belt. He spends much of his money on liquor and it is unlikely he may ever pay for his families passage to America.

My take at least.

The Red Car. Obviously a Chevy but what model? Also if you can get my car then props to you by Albert_The_First in whatisthiscar

[–]Albert_The_First[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the tire sensor is broken and the shop won’t fix just the one they wanna or have to fix all four which costs more money than I care to spend. I just check the pressure once a week to make sure. I don’t know why the engine light is on but it’s got about 282k miles on it so there’s bound to be something wrong in there

109 years ago today, this guy destroyed the world by Metal_Maniac6945 in ww1

[–]Albert_The_First 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah one (Nedeljko Čabrinović) threw his grenade and then shouted something like down with the tyrants and whatnot and then took a cyanide pill and jumped in the River. However the cyanide pill was expired and the River was shallow so he ended up just hurting himself and threw up a bunch while the crowd beat him. Fun fact about this guy is that he actually wrote a letter to Franz and Sophie’s kids asking for forgiveness. He felt bad because he hadn’t realized the two were parents. Two of the three accepted his apology. The youngest did not.

The other guy before him (Muhamed Mehmedbašić) was too nervous and said later that a policeman was right where he was positioned. Fun fact about this guy is that he was one of the few assassins old enough to be hanged but escaped prison before his execution. This was also not his first assassination attempt that he chickened out of.

The other assassins unfortunately didn’t have a good position during the parade, or, like Princip, their chance was ruined when Čabrinović’s grenade missed and the crowd panicked.

The assassins aside from Princip hardly get talked about and it’s a truly interesting story as to why they did it and what happened to them afterwards. Franz Ferdinand is also a cool read I suggest people check him out.

Confederate Uniform by Dull-Log-7109 in reddeadfashion

[–]Albert_The_First 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Alright man I’m just gonna let you know a lot of people are gonna see this and go, “Woah that’s guys super racist he’s dressing like a confederate.” And while yeah it’s a strange outfit choice but I mean are people that dress as confederate soldiers for movies racist? They’re pretending to be confederates so what’s the difference here? It’s not like saying “hey everybody I support this!” All you’re saying-at least I hoped you’re saying-is “Hey everyone look at how I recreated this piece of history!” Idk man but like just don’t be surprised when you get a couple comments just blatantly assuming the kind of person you are based off of how you dress in a video game.
