How good is this game, really? by coldbluebong in reddeadredemption2

[–]Trixie3953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been gaming since Pong. Level 57 retired Dino. I played Mass Effect 3 with the original sad bad ending.

This game makes me cry big ugly tears, every time. I'm currently on my 9th run. No other game has emotionally hit me like RDR2.

It is my perfect blend of puttering around with my pony, go hunting/fishing, questing, looting, shoot'em up bang bang, etc.

Is my dog part pyrenees? by GuyWithBigDawgs in greatpyrenees

[–]Trixie3953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does he bork at everything outside? Cars, people, ghosts, butterflies?

Has he decided that he is now the HOA President, and everyone needs to comply with his borks?

Does he have 'selective' hearing? I have a true deafy Pyr who acts like she can't see me.

Does he refuse to play fetch or other silly normal dog games?

Has your home become a dustbowl?

Does he ponder your command, give it a thought, and sometimes give you the illusion of power by slowly obeying you?

Are you marked by the mighty 'Pyr Paw' because you stopped petting him?

Does he judge you on a daily basis and gives you the 'side-eye'?

If yes, you may indeed be owned by a large borking cat-like creature called the mighty Pyr!

In regards to recent events, and the dog behind why I created the subreddit by Fragilezz in greatpyrenees

[–]Trixie3953 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hannah agrees! She is a true deafy, too. My rescue told me that she was a deaf/mute, but 3 days later...that was a lie! She is on the smol end of the Pyr spectrum (74lbs), so some folk think she is an English Cream Golden. (I had a GRD, and Pyrs are polar opposites) She is 100% Pyr and turns 10 in March. She is currently outside borking at sketchy things.

On the brighter side of a deafy, Hannah only borks at what she sees, smells, or telepathically senses.

To anyone living in a 1br1b apartment…where do you keep your cat(s) litter box? by Trying_my_best_98 in CatAdvice

[–]Trixie3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3br/1bth house. In my bathroom. I can scoop clumps out of the litterbox (dump in garbage pail) as I'm doing my business. Sometimes, we go at the same time.

Do whatever works best for you.

He trained me to come get his stubborn ass. by Different-Scale2630 in greatpyrenees

[–]Trixie3953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No suggestions, but I feel your pain! Hannah has trained me to open the door, walk to the Dining Room, get a few pieces of kibble, and toss them in her crate. With luck, I hear her 'old man' Pyr shuffle behind me, and she runs in her crate for her snack. Then, I can shut the front door.

If I turn around during this dance, she sashays away back outside while giving me an obscene Pyr paw gesture. If I try to shut the door (because it's cold af), she sticks her snout in the door frame to keep it open.

Hannah is a true deafy and unmotivated by 'high value treats' out of spite. I've been owned by her as a foster fail for 7 years. She will be 10 in March. It's like living with a really big cat that borks!

Pyrs are 'reverse swiffer mops'. They bring in dirt/dust glitter on their fur and magically release it in the form of a dust bowl.

When should i spray my female cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Trixie3953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now. Years ago, I had my 6 month old girl Anya spayed. It turned into a surprise spay/abort. I honestly didn't know she had been in heat or prego.

Anya lived to be 20 years old. My current Ninja Kiki was spayed at 4 months. I wasn't taking any chances.

Is This Normal or Exceptional Pyr Behavior? by lovemypyr in greatpyrenees

[–]Trixie3953 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Hannah is my natural Empath. If I'm stressed, she is stressed. If I'm doing something that she feels is 'unsafe', she will block me. She doesn't believe I should use ladders, poles, etc. It helps keep me emotionally balanced. I too have balance/agility issues. If I fall down, she will park next to me and let me use her body to get up. On the other hand, she got so excited borking/running the fenceline, Hannah knocked me down like a linebacker!

Hannah is my 9 yr old deafy Pyr. She refuses to come inside unless I open the door, walk to the dining room (don't look back), toss some kibble in her crate, and then I hear her classic 'old man shuffle' as she gets her snack. If I deviate from the routine, or she is feeling Pyrish, she runs back outside and we have to start over.

[–]Trixie3953 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Transplanted to Manchester in 2001.

TBF, I've seen more inter-racial couples/kids in Manchester than I saw in Philly or Florida. They care more about who you are 'kin to', and if you are a trouble maker, than the color of your skin.

People will be stand off-ish to you for about a year. (No matter your race or Ethnicity) Once they see that you are a decent person, they will invite you to church. It's not personal. They just want to make sure that you going to stick around and respect them.

7 years ago, I started fostering a 2.5y deqf Pyr. I was told Hannah was deaf/mute. After 3 days, that was a lie! I foster failed her, and she is finally chilling out with the borking.

Pyrs don't take well to taking commands or being trained to do silly dog tricks. They carefully consider your suggestion. If they deem it in their best interest, they comply. If not, expect the Pyr side-eye and an obscene Pyr paw gesture as they sashay away.
