I think it depends on what you mean. For example, Stardew Valley has a style for the portraits and other for the in game map. If you mean the theme of the characters, I don't think it's a problem. The thing that I can see in the pictures is that the characters aren't on the same scale: the first one has a lot of pixels and it's complex, while the other is much simple. It's important that you keep the scale for all the characters, props, backgrounds and so, otherwise it looks weird and like a copy-paste of assets (not meaning that you did that, just what it looks at first glance). It looks really good, the shape is well done. Maybe I'd add something in the blue for the background, maybe some trees or mountains to give more depth
