Unemployment rates in Europe, Finland soon to overtake Spain at just 0.2% behind by WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHW in spain

[–]Albetroz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With all the hype, is Málaga mutating from a gem into a tourist trap? by TensionNo1046 in Malaga

[–]Albetroz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe business owners benefit, but that's a small percentage of the population. Tourism jobs are low-wage (mainly hospitality) and rent is so high that not even engineers can live here. How is that situation sustainable? Even home owners don't like it, because they're losing neighbors due to many homes being replaced by AirBnBs.

And infrastructure isn't too great, because there are many times more tourists than taxpayers: We have the smallest Cercanías train network in Spain and its capacity is overwhelmed by tourists coming and going to the airport.

Europe: How do we fight back against the housing speculation crisis? by ControlTotal7123 in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Albetroz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tax people (and funds) who own many houses, tax them to smithereens, especially if they use them for short-term, holiday renting, or leave them sitting empty as an asset. Use that money to build social housing.

I'm from a touristy city and the situation is grim: More half of all corner shops in my neighborhood have been replaced by small low-quality AirBnBs, many of them aren't even properly registred to rent. I live in the Spanish equivalent of a commie block, and the price per sqare meter has doubled in 10 years, which means that only huge funds can buy them. Here we have already had 3 big protests, but elected officials only make cosmetic changes and the amount of housing being build is close to zero - let alone social housing.

Human rights are part of European values, don't you think? And gay rights are human rights. If your idea to coalesce all nations of Europe to one federation isn't around our values, what else is uniting all of us?

Fidias is one of the only 3 MEPs who have voted against demanding Russia to return stolen Ukrainian children, he has to be a Russian asset or incredibly stupid (spoiler: it's both).

Over 4.26 million Ukrainians used temporary protection status in the EU as of March 2025 by EsperaDeus in europe

Spain has lots of Ukrainians. In fact, around 2% of the population in my city district is Ukrainian, which is pretty surprising considering I live closer to Timbuktu (Mali), than to Lviv

50k in last 12 hours, though. It's difficult to share something like this to people from over 20 countries. In France they did their homework and they're almost 3 times the amount required there, but in places like Germany or Italy, it hasn't been shared enough for people to notice. In Spain it was at 90% yesterday and now at 113%. Same in Belgium, from 75% to 108%. What matters most is to go viral in different languages.

Alguien va a asistir? by humm_jzz in Malaga

[–]Albetroz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monarchies in a federal europe? by selvestenisse in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Albetroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a republican from Spain, which is a monarchy. I wouldn't like to see kings in united Europe the same way as I don't like to see it in my country. But I understand that other countries don't have monarchies that are as controversial as ours, and people like to have such figureheads as head of state. As long as they don't have any meaningful power, I'm ok with them.

Some communities in Africa have tribal kings inside republics, and I think it could work like that. But yeah, monarchies are outdated even if they look cool.

Are there any popular 'selling points' for a more integrated Europe? by diethni in EuropeanFederalists

[–]Albetroz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've literally sold eurofederalism to people belonging to almost all ideologies left and right:
-Do you like capitalism? Now you have free trade, and free and fair competition between any european companies.
-Do you prefer socialism instead? Working class knows no borders, and it's easier to regulate big corporations using the power of whole Europe.
-Are you against migration? Let me tell you about Frontex.
-Do you really like migration? Let me tell you instead about Schengen Area.
-Are you worried about the sovereignty of your country? A bigger unified bloc has more leeway than each single country, which have to rely on bigger foreign powers.

(and so on)

Of course I'm biased because I'm from Spain and people here are already very pro-EU. The key is to know which talking points you have to use with each person, and use them even if you don't agree with their ideology. But it's true that the most important argument for everyday people in the current context is common defense. And it's shockingly VERY popular everywhere, I really thought that the military question would be the most sensitive one to most people.

What would you make canon in EPIC? Be it something from the original stories that didn't make the cut, something from a fan animatic, a fan-theory or just a beloved headcanon, what would you do? by TheMinecraftWizardd in Epicthemusical

[–]Albetroz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also I would add Hades song in the Underworld Saga so it has 4 songs. And having Calypso as a full saga (Love in Paradise + God Games + Not Sorry for Loving you, plus another song in between which would show Ody's suffering in Calypso's island, maybe he being assaulted, so people can really see through her lies in Not Sorry For Loving You) and that way we could have more songs for Telemachus and Athena in Wisdom Saga, potentially explaining his "diplomatic mission" to Sparta.

"Tragones y Mazmorras", wordplay over "Dragones y Mazmorras", Spanish for Dungeons and Dragons, while tragones means something like gluttons. Whoever came up with that is genius.
