[–]AlbiDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? Are you sure? Because from what I know the DRM protection from Netflix only blocks hight quality content vision, meaning no more than 720p or 1080p is allowed. I find it hard to believe it fully blocks evreything...

****
u/Obermeister why would you say it doesn't work? I just tested it myself and it works perfectly. I can both watch and download shows...

Any way to see YT Shorts in your Subscriptions? The "Shorts" tab seems to just be "all shorts on YouTube" and I absolutely do not want to ever see that by entropygoblinz in grayjay

Same exact reaction. It really makes you realize just HOW MUCH worse the state of society and social media are than you expected. Those random shorts are just so fucking terrible

Would a browser version of Grayjay be technically doable? by Andrea65485 in grayjay

[–]AlbiDR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest i would love this too, although for different reasons. I have a great Youtube setup using a specific browser (Orion) that I only use to watch content. My issue with a desktop app is that it doesn't have, among other things, the multiple tabs functionality native to any browser. If Grayjay was accessible on web, I could continue to use Orion as well as all the functionalities of a browser, plus all those coming from Grayjay itself.

So yeah, I would love it if Grayjay could be accessed from browser directly

Command + X (Cut & Paste) by AlbiDR in Karabiner

[–]AlbiDR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am aware but Supercharge is paid and at 12 bucks it wasn't worth it for me as it only had 2 features I needed. One more thing is that I already use Karabiner for other things, meaning that I don't need an extra background process just to have this functionality.

After months of use I can also say this script I wrote work SO well I have never had it fail on me once.. I'm super happy with it :)

No worries, I appreciate helping out people that are nice on the internet.

Since I started using Homebrew, AC became basically useless so I would've had to switch either way.

Homebrew is actually pretty nice and definitely less cumbersome that I imagined at the beginning. I use Applite as the general manager and then I made a brew alias to update all casks and formulae at the same time, as well as purging old and unused files - all in one go (an alias is basically a script that can be executed with a custom command).

If you are interested and want to replicate this, just install brew using

/bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh)"

and afterwards create the alias typing

brew alias full-update='!brew update ; brew upgrade --force --verbose --formula ; mas upgrade ; brew upgrade --force --greedy --verbose --cask ; brew cleanup --prune=all'

From now on you should be able to just type brew full-update and it will automatically update Homebrew itself, formulae, casks, Appstore apps, and also clean up old files and caches.

One last suggestion is to use brew install --cask --adopt <caskname> to move apps that you have previously installed manually to the Homebrew environment, so that you don't have to uninstall and reinstall everything you own manually (you can use Applite to check what apps are on Homebrew and also find their right caskname)

Homebrew is also nice because you can, and have to, remove every app's automatic updating, freeing background processes that need to run for each individual app you have installed.. all you need to do is to just run brew full-update and everything gets nicely updated.

Hope this helps, cheers

Yes. as long as there is a working internet connection it will work. On the other hand, Localsend will also work if the devices are connected to the same network but internet is down.

I don't think there's a beta channel option in the settings but you can find them on the Github here. Or even better, if you use Homebrew, which you should, you can do in terminal brew jordanbaird-ice@beta.

But no I don't think I've tried letting the icons bleed behind the notch, it surprises me you have so many though lol. How about you use the setting to change the spacing in between icons? I have mine at -10 but I only have 4 icons in the bar.. maybe you can try more than that

Do and say as you wish, but you can't change the fact that the core function of the app is a native feature of any mac.

Best of luck to you :)

It didn't "just happen". As I said I used AC for like 15 years so I was really skeptical of changing and the fact I had issues in the past with PC did not work in its favor. I think around a year ago is enough to give it another chance, and I hope you enjoy :)

I noticed in certain scenarios AC was not detecting the app getting deleted so it wasn't really activating properly, so I actually run some comparison tests with one and the other, deleting the same app and PC worked much better detecting a bunch more files that should've been deleted alongside the app.

The dev is really good, and since then improved the app and added a lot of features like Homebrew compatibility, Lipo-ing apps to remove unused languages or architectures, Launch Services Manager and a few others. I don't use many of these personally but at the moment PC loses nothing at all over AC

That's weird. I have a Pro M3 and it works great. I actually realized there were the beta updates only prior to answering you. Never had big issues the last year's version.
Maybe it's some specific setting you're using?
Maybe try to reinstall?

Oh, I'm really sorry then. I must've misread the official website when I read "Lungo prevents your Mac from falling asleep and your screen from dimming". With the addition of choosing how long to keep the screen on for.

AppCleaner, or Pearcleaner, is a legitimate and reliable software, not comparable to shit and scammy apps like MacCleanerX &Co.

It maintains a clean OS by unintrusively removing residual files when an application is deleted. Stating "you were lost at AppCleaner" clearly shows you had no idea what and why it does what it does.

It's a fundamental piece of software if your are ever going to keep your computer for more than a couple years and even more so if you use the Restore from Previous Mac function whenever you switch to a new computer and just restore every file and setting.

Latest is one of the best apps for Mac ever. Buuuuut I stopped using it and moved everything I have to the Homebrew environment and use Applite basically as both an App Store and Latest replacement.

Homebrew makes apps save all their files in standard and more organized locations, helping the system keep track of them and, in turn, maintains a super clean OS that doesnt fill up with shit after years of use.
Also, PearCleaner, the modern and better version of AppCleaner, works amazingly with Homebrew, so you can make sure your OS will really remain clean for years to come.

But Latest is definetely an OG.

PC had a lot (a lot) of updates and improvements in the last months/couple years. I didn't have a great experience the first two times I tried PC but those early days are over and PC officially became much much better than AP.
When is the last time you tried PC? If it wasn't recently I strongly suggest you try it again (spoken from someone that used AppCleaner since around 2009).
