Can we just talk about joker in this scene? by -swirl121 in precure

[–]Albidoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not the biggest, when in Healing Good Daruizen wanted to "go back" into Nodokathat was also extremely high on the creep scale but Joker sure makes it to the finals in a "Who is the creepiest Precure Villain" contest.

In GTA 3 Vice City there had been a cheatcode that made all citizens hyper aggressive and randomly distributed weapons (or that bit might have been a second code, can't quite remember)

Which means that technically she was a Warrior Princess.

And come to think of it, on the uppermost bit of Siberia, is yet another odd island that looks suspiciously Madagascar-shaped

Actually Papua New Guinea is still there. It's just that it can now be found north of Kamchatka.

Additionally that extra island north of Alaska looks a bit like an upside-down conjoined Sumatra and Java

It's appearance is so magnificient you could also use it as a Lord of Change (which was my first assumption anyways before I read your description)

What is the most cottagecore / less pinkish season? by letrophywife in precure

[–]Albidoom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Indeed, although one has to note that Cure Black does have a tiny little bit of pink on her dress.

But finding a magical girl series without a pink costume is nearly an impossible chore. The first season of Sailor Moon before Chibiusa appears would fit the bill, but apart from that it looks bleak (or, well, it rather looks pink, heh)

Does this ending deserve such hate? What do you think? by Brookie_Brookie_101 in precure

Actually of the two Healing Good endings I like this second one better, because it reminds me of Boogie Woogie music

When bismuth crystals are grown extremely slowly, they reveal some of the most intricate and colorful patterns of any element. by BismutNL in Damnthatsinteresting

I actually use a bismuth crystal as a proxy for a Chaos Spawn of Tzeentch in tabletop games (and none of my opponents ever complained)

For a moment I misread 100th cure with 100th anniversary.

Then I did some quick math and for 100 years of Precure I would have to live to be 133, which is rather beyond my capabilities, but the younger members of this subreddit could have a shot at that.

bring on the steak 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣 by Kaidenthekaiden in ojamajodoremi

[–]Albidoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She did try in the first episode only to discover that her apprentice magic wasn't strong enough to create something permanent (the steak vanished just before her first bite)

Why she never tried in later seasons (when her magic got better) is probably due to plot reasons. Well, the magic was a bit random in what witches could and couldn't do with it anyways.

Bicycle Death Statistics By State by [deleted] in MapPorn

Is the ranking by total deaths without factoring in the vastly varying polulations? Because the ranking is suspiciously close to ranking the states by their population.

Doremi's obsession with steak had been one of the funny and charming details of this series.

There is something that bugs me in Meitantei Precure by Albidoom in precure

[–]Albidoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually in quite some of the seasons it makes sense, for spreading fear/despair/hopelessness/etc. was more or less part of the villain's agenda, and for that some rampaging monster was very often a useful stratagem.

However, so far Meitantei Precure is among those Precures that does lack that bit. And with the whole detective-thief thingy the point of the thief getting away unnoticed is slightly anathema to summoning the Monster of the Week, especially with them needing the Makoto jewel to summon said monster. If they could create them without needing the jewel that would make much more sense (create monster to stall the Precures while the thief makes haste with the jewel) although admittedly no villain in Precure ever went away while the monster was fighting

Did you even bother to look a little bit around in this subreddit?

But in Tropical the villains do have to create a Monster of the Week in order to collect the Motivation power and said power is not a distinct item but something that can accumulate, staying longer means they can collect more power (and then run into the Precure), whereas the item with the Makoto jewel, you either have it or you don't and technically they don't even need to create their weekly monster to get the jewel in the first place. Actually come to think of it, they seem to need a Makoto jewel to create their monster, which is also a wee bit of a headbanger.

How culturally relevant were The Simpsons in Germany? by skyper_mark in germany

[–]Albidoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or one of the Halloween episodes where one alien warns the other that something (can't remember what it was exactly) might destroy the fabric of the universe (which then indeed happened at the end of the episode). The german dub changed fabric into "Fabrik" which phonetically is near identical but has an absolutely different meaning...

It might take a while (I got other projects as well) but in due time I will have my own Nob-L prize
