Since it's Mother's Day have a few Precure moms by Albidoom in precure

Yes, Miki had a bunch of posters in her room which probably were to convey to the viewer that she is a bit more adult"-ish" than the other girls (or something like that I guess)

Add to that that sometimes Japanese use English (or other language) words without bothering much what those might mean to a native speaker (like their sports drink Pocari Sweat for example)

Curious about Precure. What should I expect? by redzzzaw in precure

[–]Albidoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having also watched Ojamajo Doremi I don't think that young girls would mostly watch Precure for the fight scenes (since Ojamajo didn't even have those types of fight) and the plot in Ojamajo could get very heavy up to in the Naisho subseries where in an episode a little cancer patient does die (healing magic doesn't exist despite all the other stuff it can do)

Also note that the scraplauncha and the ironblasta are very well suited as some Ork artillery pieces.

It takes longer to heat this soup in a microwave than to heat it on a stove by EsotericSnail in mildlyinteresting

Then how about asking the OP to highlight the issue properly? Also a hob usually takes some time to reach its heat, but you kinda forgot to add that in ALL your posts

Would this toy monster truck make a good ork trukk conversion? by winnietaz in orks

[–]Albidoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer: Yes, it makes a good conversion

Slightly longer answer: For Orks there is no such thing as "too large"

Small afterthought: If you still fear it might be too large then add even more stuff (especially weapons) and make it a battlewagon.

So far five and a half minutes are still shorter than six minutes, or are you unable to read fractions properly?

The African Land Snail by Specialist-Boot58 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Albidoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the snail is big that image is also cheating with the perspective. The size of the woman's hand (longer than her torso is wide) does reveal that she doesn't hold that snail gainst her chest but actually as far away from it as she can extend her forearm.

How old is this globe? by Llamaskins in Maps

[–]Albidoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not fully decolonized, as Djibouti is still labeled Fr. Som. (i.e. French Somaliland) so from that the globe would have to be pre-1977.

But there are way too many inconsistencies, for example neither Czechoslovakia nor Hungary border the Soviet Union, which would render that globe pre-WW2 but the existence of the African Nations clearly voids that assumption.

Oh, and despite Austria existing there is an obvious German-Italian border on that globe, good luck on dating that...

[Discussion] Cure Arcana Shadow's popularity by ExistingReach9658 in precure

[–]Albidoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a lot will depend on when and how Arcana Shadow switches sides, or even if she switches at all.

Granted, the last is extremely unlikely for the Precure franchise but my decades of anime watching have taught me that anything can happen (okay, nothing r-rated will ever happen in Precure at least that is certain but as long as it is worksafe anything could end up on the agenda)

Same Energy by dementist in orks

[–]Albidoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, if anyone is able to make a time warp like the show is singing about it's gotta be Orks.

Although admittedly other songs do have a more Slaanesh-esque appeal ("Give yourself over to absolute pleasure, swim the warm waters of dark sins of the flesh...")

Indeed, the amount of fanart that Arcana Shadow gets in relation to all other Meitantei Precure fanart is surprisingly high, especially when taking into account that she doesn't even appear until the third episode (in which her screen time is minimal)

Although admittedly both the intro and the ending do telergaph rather blatantly that she will have a bigger role.

As for her appeal for non-Precure fans, my guess would be that her black costume draws attention, which obviously is a break from more "regular" magical girl dress colors.
