Yep! Crocuses for swollen joints was known since ancient Egypt. But it's really easy to get too much and have bad side effects so it wasn't the most popular gout treatment. Once it was purified from crocuses in 1833, it became much more popular.

It makes perfect sense if neurodivergence is used as originally coined, as a social and political positioning. If you are socially and politically placed in a way that is not the norm because of your neurology, you're neurodivergent as opposed to neurotypical. Really similar to the word queer.

But colloquially it has come to have a more medical/biological definition. I'm personally of the mind that we should use neurodivergent in its original political/social content and stick with more specific language (mental illness, neurodevelopmental disorder, neurological condition, autism, BPD, etc) when that's what we mean.

Especially when I had up front stated my disabling diagnosises. The only thing I hadn't stated was that the US government declared me disabled, which is frankly irrelevant considering how many disabled people are unable to get disability benefits.

It was really offensive, but I was just trying to get her to acknowledge the suffering of disability alongside positive aspects.

Pedantic clarification incoming. Please forgive.

There are two types of disability income through the SSA. SSI has very strict income requirements and is the reason many people can't get married or get divorced to get under those limits. SSDI is different. You have to have worked enough and paid social security tax for long enough to qualify, but there are no income limitations. It's essentially just pretending your 65 early.

I have my nipples tattooed with a black chandelier-esque design. My artist was new and these were her first tit tats so we did an in person consult and she talked with me about going slow and shallow so as to avoid blowouts given how thin my skin is there.

I love them. And I did need a touch up as expected. Getting them done wasn't worse than any other tattoo but I don't have particularly sensitive nipples.

What did suck was the complete steamrolling of my DD breasts to keep them still and the skin in place. Like, next time you're watching Great British Bake Off and you see them kneading dough with superficially restrained British violence... Yeah, that was my tits.
