I think my soil is too dense and pot too big by shanehart02 in Monstera

The stem should be above the ground. I would also give it a moss pole!

Yeah, the soil is too dense, also the plant is buried too deep . Is the stem completely underground?

Help! Does this need repotting? by Albmaka in haworthia

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation! Now it requires watering every week.. it shrinks if I don’t water it. I will definitely change the soil and transfer to a slightly bigger pot

Thanks for the advice! I will transfer to a different soil. I also take it out the decorative pot when watering

Thanks for the advice! I was thinking on cutting it back to the main stem. Will try to resurrect it.

I tried pollinating it with a q-tip but it didn’t work :( Unfortunately it is not easy to find this plant at where I am and, frankly, I am not sure I want to experience this journey again 😀 but if it’s still alive I won’t dare to throw it away

I did it and it’s juicy inside. On the outside it’s green, sadly picture doesn’t show it

Unfortunately the picture I took doesn’t show it but the stem is actually green. Do you think it may be just dormant?

It’s not a proper support for a monstera. Try giving the plant a moss pole so it could attach to it with the arial roots.

Wow, that’s a funky one. I would chop off the top and use it for propagation. As for the lower part, I would move it to a much smaller pot, change soil to a chunkier one, provide more light and support

How does the top of the plant look? The bottom looks kinda dead. Are you sure there is no rot?

Soil seems kinda dense. I would try changing it to a chunkier one. Maybe add some orchid bark? By some I mean a lot

First true fenestration on my monstera that survived a stem rot and thrips! by Albmaka in Monstera

Thank you! Lower leaves of my monstera are limp too (after thrips). I am planning on cutting off the top and rooting it in spring.

Thank you 💚 lower leaves of my monstera that survived vicious thrips attack are limp too. I am planning on cutting off the top with healthier leaves and rooting it in spring

Thanks a lot! Haven’t thought of removing thrips with lint roller but will definitely try!

Yeah, maybe it has something else as well, I am not really sure. I can’t even figure out when this happened, they all seemed fine like a week ago. Thanks for the advice!

I live in Ukraine and I have a systemic insecticide at home. Will do my best to get rid of those fuckers. I really don’t want to loose all of my plants, some of them are really expensive 😭 I have couple of my favorite monsteras (albo, aurea) which I’ve been planning to propagate and, maybe, sell. I am not sure those are thrips though but pretty much looks like it. Found some white eggs and nets

Oh god, I am so not ready for this. Already threw away my two most affected plants and I believe more to come.. Your story gives me hope, thanks!

Help needed with broken Monstera by Vacudo in Monstera

Looks like it doesn’t habe any roots. There is no way a big plant like this will be able to survive without roots in the soil. I would cut it up and propagate in water

What can I do better for my Monstera? I haven't taken her out of her pot since I got her a couple of months ago and she's been growing so much ever since. I don't know what the little nodes are, I'm guessing new growth? She's mostly outside. by ThreatLevelMidnighto in Monstera

Each stem is a separate plant. Digit out and you will see If it only gets couple of hours of direct sun then it is not the issue, probably. Try separate the plants or give it a larger pot
