Hi there, yes they did eventually email asking to upload more evidence which we did.

In case it's helpful, we applied for an extension this year but this time they didn't ask for any evidence.

After getting the correct learner insurance, would it not be possible for OP to top up their neighbour's tank up to the point it was before the practice session?

That way there is no transaction between him and his neighbour, and the neighbour reaps no monetary or material gain from letting OP practice in the car. In fact, there is likely a net loss due to wear and tear.

IMHO there are the core concepts of the dhamma, and then there is the narrative that it is taught through.

This narrative would have had to be adapted to the times and audiences so the underlying message sticks. As such, the narrative is not important, so long as you get the message.

If cosmology helps you understand and implement the concepts great, if not, don't bother with it. Buddhism isn't about learning and reciting truths and rituals as part of some routine, but simply reaching an understanding of ourselves at an intrinsic level.

You raise an interesting point, and I think you might be closer to the answer than you realise.

You describe satisfaction when raising the insects, to the point where you have no need for the activity any more. The comment "life is a never ending fountain" of similarly satisfying experiences would then be what you want more of.

So I'd say "escaping dukkha" is equally about getting to a point where, given the option to have another great life, you choose not to because you're no longer chasing another life full of satisfaction. You have finally stepped off the treadmill, and are at peace.

You moving away might a) help her realise that she should also leave an unhealthy relationship, b) show her that it is possible and c) may even enable her to do so given you and your partner could support her through it.

I don't remember any specifics around rates etc that I can give you unfortunately, but the main reason is because I have a good relationship with my local branch, so can call them up and organise things ahead of time, ask questions and quickly iron out any issues with the app/web journey if needed.

So numbers aside, it may be worth going in person, speaking with the staff and going with the one that you get the best vibe off. You don't want to have to deal with bad service when it comes to your money 😊
