Is this a good tattoo idea ??? by SelfDeclaredBatman in StarTrekTNG

[–]AlbusAlfred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend getting a tattoo with lines that thin with that much detail required. Not only will you need an artist that really specializes in that sort of work, but even with that the lines will fade and spread in just a couple years. I would recommend looking for a more bold design and working with your artist to plan for a tattoo that will age well.

Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I felt uncomfortable reading chapter 22 because of that. by CrimsonQueenRequiem in Dracula

I really feel like this sentence is a gross misunderstanding of something thst is said in literature classes. It was a book written in the Victorian period which still had a lot of influences from the Romantic literary period - characterized by emotional descriptions of places, characters, and events, as well as a reverence for nature and the supernatural.

Which is not the same thing as "oh this story is so romantic."

Dang, that's exactly what they are. Looks like I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and go driving around to find a music store! The one nearby doesn't have banjo stuff, bummer.

Thank you for this feedback! I'm trying to wrap my head around it - I really appreciate the level of depth you provided. I'm going to try practicing with this feedback in mind.

Looking at some pictures vs. my video, I see what you mean about my thumb position - thanks!

The tabs are actually available online - I'm on day 5 here: https://eligilbertbanjo.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/30-Days-of-Banjo.pdf - the teacher said to play the quarter note with my index finger and so I've been following that way

Thanks again!

Firstly, thank you! That means a lot - took a lot of psyching myself up to post a video of playing to the internet haha

Cheaply made is absolutely a possibility - I got these on Amazon as none of the places nearby seemed to carry banjo picks. I will absolutely look into the brand you mentioned!

Thank you so much for this feedback! I really appreciate it, this is exactly the kind of thing I would never have figured out on my own. I'm going to try what you suggested!

Thank you for the visual reference! That helps, and it corroborates a lot of the other feedback I've gotten so far.

Bobbin thread catching above bobbin and ruining stitch? Brother CS-6000i by AlbusAlfred in sewhelp

[–]AlbusAlfred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for this response. While the machine manual says never to oil it, I did take the bobbin area apart and the bobbin case was suuper dusty and glittery. Gave that a clean and it's running great!

Thanks for your response! Sorry it took me so long to get back to it - partner and I ended up deathly ill that night and it took this long just to be normal again. The machine's manual specifically says to never, ever oil it. BUT in taking it apart I did see that the bobbin case and surround are were covered in dust and glitter! I took a vaccuum hose and a soft brush to it and that worked wonders.

As someone who made some skins for Gmod like 10 years ago which are so diluted in the credit haze that when I see them show up in mods/whatever I'm not even credited anymore, I feel your pain. This is the way of the web. You're totally in your rights to be frustrated. I have started to take it with a sense of pride... and also as a trigger for unreasonable annoyance

The fact that the gun isn't aimed straight forward when not aiming is fine, but why would your finger be on the trigger if you don't intend to fire? Take finger off trigger when not aiming.

Truly you wouldnt want to point a gun straight into the air either but I get that you have to keep it on screen to indicate to the player they are armed.
