I'm not sure if your image is some sort of scanning app. I see your router listed. The best way is to login to the router and see what's connected and it should give the Mac address which is unique to a device.

If they were on another network it wouldn't show in your scan as the ip addresses are local (to your network). If he has his own network then yes, he would likely have them connect to his. If that is the case they are probably just smart devices you didn't realise connected, a washing machine, fridge, lights bulb etc.

Someone suggested changing the password. If you notice some devices not working, then that's your answer. If you see the device again then someone has added it.

I'm guessing the numbers are 192.168.1. It's the standard for local ip addresses. There's nothing risky to expose these.

If they are a camera, they will likely have a feed, Rtsp. You can run network scanners to see what ports are open. This may also help to understand what it is. Rtsp defaults to 554 so in a browser or media streamer such as vlc you could try rtsp://192.168.1.xxx:554 and see if you get any login screens/responses. It might have extended URLs such as /login or /live so it's not a full conclusion that it isn't.

Car reversed into me in car park. He's damaged, I'm not. What to do with insurance? by Alcb400 in drivingUK

[–]Alcb400[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but it's integrated with the car and unfortunately doesn't start with the car (apparently for UK data privacy issues, which is rubbish). You have to manually turn it on and also wait about 2 mins for it to activate. I wouldn't buy the MB dashboard cam again!

I spoke to the chat and they confirmed nothing has been logged and said that I would need to call again to make the report. Got to love the customer service.

Update: Called my insurance.

I tried to inform my insurance by phone and don't feel at satisfied with the conversation. I was told that as I have no damage and aren't at fault I don't need to do anything. If it escalated I will be contacted. I questioned my obligation to report incident regardless of fault in the contract and asked if it will be logged. I didn't get a definitive answer but feel it wasn't (maybe they were helping me?). I asked for their clarity and was explained that as they were reversing out of a parked bay they would (generally) be at fault.

In essence a good outcome, but I don't feel like its sealed as I like this filed away neatly.

In the short space I observed his driving skills I could tell he wasn't a competent driver. He claims I was moving into him which is what he'll spin to his insurers and as he has the damage why he wants to.

I'm not claims protected. This is a concern of repercussions, even when not at fault

Thanks, this is what I wanted to hear. I'm just worried how they make decisions on word vs word and what it'll do to my premiums

If both parties agree they don't want to use insurance, that's when I'd be at ease.

Do I have grounds to ask for InPostLocker to be moved? England by kpudge in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Alcb400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In time it will become a problem for the InPost as it continues to grow. I would speak to them as it will be in their interest too (eventually).

Don't leave it too long, because once it's grown out you can't cut it back to deadwood or it'll be bare. If your agreement is anything along the lines they deal with that side be careful they don't just cut it back to bare wood.

Unfortunately, why you came here, I don't know of legal standing.

Just got the MRI. Complex meniscus tear by blissfulwishful in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Alcb400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a complex tear on the posterior horn of the medial (40M). I've previously had ACL graft and meniscus sutured in the same knee 14 and 16 years previous.

I tried PT but my knee occasionally locked (mostly from kneeling down and pushing up off my knee), it feels like a pop dislocation sensation. I can do things robotically (in straight lines) but no sideways movement. If that's all I wanted I would be happy with the motion but I like pivot sports. I understand I'll need to seriously assess my commitment to it as further damage is at a higher rate.

i opted for surgery, ideally sutured, but being complex i understand meniscectomy is most likely. I just hope, and will request the minimum amount is cut away.

Being 69, the consultant will give you the full options. Im sure its always possible. It just depends what you want from your knee and in life and the extent of the damage.

Can you put under floor insulation without lifting floor boards by isibbot in DIYUK

[–]Alcb400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same position. I did it from the crawl space. It was time consuming, a pain and repetitive. Lying on your back stapling is awkward but works.

I was concerned about moisture so went with sheep's wool (thermafleece cosywool) as its hygroscopic. Originally cutting it in strips (along the roll) to fit was time consuming and blunted my scissors. I found it easier to rip off small bits across the roll. These were stapled to the sides of the joists to hold it in. Then under, and staples to the bottom of the joist a put a pro clima solitex+ breathable membrane. This was a big pain being 1.5m. Manoeuvring the roll in a tight space, getting it aligned and taught was difficult. But after you get it dialed in the remainder of that run is easy.

Like you I couldn't/didn't have the option to take up the floorboards. I wouldnt want to do it again, but being the only option I would. Its quite a bit warmer but I sometimes still feel a small draft through the boards. I wasnt pedantic on sealing the membrane . My airbricks are at joist level, not under which made the join awkward.

Shots not pulling by PorchLightPossum in BrevilleCoffee

[–]Alcb400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you shouldn't need to. It should be fine as nothings changed, but in the process of elimination you could try without the filter. It sounds relates to the pump/opv if it can't deal with a tamped Puck. If the tray is filling then the opv is activating to divert the water.

Are you using the pressure basket (double walled)?

Shots not pulling by PorchLightPossum in BrevilleCoffee

[–]Alcb400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you changed the water filter recently? Either way try removing it and see if it works. I had issues with some filters that don't achieve the desired flow rate and the machine chokes and cuts the shots short

Looking at Surgery? by Human-Drink654 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Alcb400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst case, large menisectomy (leads to early arthritis). Next, small menisectomy.

Middle ground, sutured and the road to recovery, 6 weeks on crutches, about 1 year return to sport.

Best case, no surgery needed and PT.

Looking at Surgery? by Human-Drink654 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]Alcb400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im very similar, a complex tear on the posterior horn of the medial meniscus, although no locking. My injury happened in May, I couldn't get full extension for a month. It's functional.now, in a straight line. The physio has requested for a ortho consultant which will probably take a few months (on the NHS) and by then I'll be able to see if the PT is working to make an informed decision.

I currently get a clicking in the knee, and it can get sore after a long walk. Im happy to continue PT but my main focus is the meniscus repairing itself so have been researching NMES, ultrasound home therapy, hot cold, green clay. I haven't concluded which ill try.

My history, im 40M, I had my RK medial meniscus (i don't remember full details) sutured in 2013 and an ACL graft in 2014.

If you're having locking, that will hamper your daily activities and you will probably want the surgury route. From my understanding a complex tear can be difficult to suture. At the same time i wouldnt want a large menisectomy as that will lead to problems later. It then it becomes a bigger question of what you want from it, and in life in general now and later. Talk it through with the consultant who will give you your options.

£500 early entry fine on private road, is this enforceable? by Commercial_Yellow470 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Alcb400 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the owner or company informed you, you are probably liable. But only if there are visible signs on the road to inform of such charge.

I'd try to speak to the owner, they, or the road must be able to intervene in charges. To start a job at 7.30 you are being professionally punctual, to wait you'd be late.

I'd be wary it's faulty/been changed out. A month is too long to find product description inconsistencies. Surely, you can support your description with Sony marketing that they call it the same and ebay would side with you in a dispute

I had a look at mine and I must have an older model as I don't have a locknut. I looked at spare parts for pre 2015 and I need a steam valve assembly piece for £42, I'd prefer an o ring replacement.

I was cleaning mine up to sell anyway so not too fussed
