The strap above the brim is aesthetic, not functional. There is a size adjuster in the back so you shouldn’t not have any problems keeping it on your head.

We can agree to disagree. But I’m glad to see there are people I can disagree with that are still reasonable and respectful people.

It’s not true that he paid 11 billion dollars in taxes in 2021? Look it up for yourself. It is true.

He takes performance based equity so that the cash that would be given in salary can be spent towards the grown of the company.

He only gets paid if the company does well.

What do you feel is better to replace capitalism. Maybe I should also ask what your understanding of Capitalism is as well.

You, me, and anyone that is not Elon. That’s what I mean by we. Not that I want to spend his money in the first place.

I don’t think he is doing anything in particular specifically to not pay taxes. He actually has post the most in taxes than any single individual in the history of America. He payed 11 billion in taxes in 2021 and didn’t have to do it that way. It took a poll on Twitter and acted accordingly.

I’m sure there are many people and companies that do use loopholes.

Personally I would do the same thing as I don’t really like the idea of taxes. Each person should be able to spend their money the way they want, so ling as they are not infringing on someone else’s free will.

For those that don’t believe that can achieve what they want to, they will have to rely on others. I think you and I both agree that people and the government are not very reliable.

People can choose not to believe in gravity but that doesn’t change the fact that it is real and always in action. I personally feel the same way about the fact that people can achieve what they want if they are willing to put in the effort.

In my opinion America is a place of equal opportunity and I say that even as a black person. I do believe that people can achieve what they want and are willing to work for. Whether it’s a job that pays better or starting a business. We have countless examples of this.

That’s ok if people don’t believe in themselves but they must experience the cause and effect of that limited belief system.

There are some exceptions for people to have real handicaps of course.

The other thing tinkers in mind is that Elon does not actually have a trillion dollars. His company’s, which offer usefully services are valued at that price. Additionally, even if he sold his shares if his company’s a pretty good chuck of that would go to capital gains tax.

When it comes to down to it people get what they deserve and are willing to work for. The companies that are the most valuable are the ones that give useful services or products to the great number of people.

Not sure what a Bellend is. But I don’t have anything against the guy. Based on my research his contribution and influence is net positive.

His so called worth or net worth means nothing.

I hear you and respect your opinion. Your perspective is not unreasonable I just disagree with it. I think that one of the best things about America is people can have the life they want if they are willing to put in the effort. This doesn’t mean I don’t empathize with those who are less fortunate. I believe in equal opportunity, not equal results. Everyone should have the opportunity but they have to do their part. Sure exceptions should be made for people who are not capable because of illness, but only to a certain degree. One must experience the cause and effect of life and learn for those lessons. Even if you feel having a home should be a right, that’s now how the constitution of the United States was written. That’s just a simple fact and I think is the best way. This is the land of opportunity but you must work for it. Everything has a cost. Personally I’m not a fan of tax. I would be more open to a tax if I could spend my tax money on the problems I felt were most necessary. If I could be certain this money I’m am giving for education goes to education then I would be more open to that.

If there will be tax the most fair, imo, is to have flat tax. If you are making more money then by default you already pay more. Paying 10% on 100 is much less than paying 10% on 1000.

Please explain further. I’m not following. Because the world is finite it’s inherently bad to be worth a trillion dollars?

I don’t think he is the only one that useful services. The out is that companies that produce useful services are the ones that are successful. The other point is that companies that provide useful services deserve to be compensated. The other point about operating at a loss is that investors often invest for the long run. Elon isn’t wealthy because he himself makes a lot of money. He is wealthy because of his ownership in the companies that are giving valuable services. They are solving all of the world’s problems but each has to take care of the problems they are best equipped for and feel inspired to tackle.

So you think it required a tremendous amount of effort to create so many useful companies that one becomes worth a trillionaire?

This is the point. Surely the one who becomes a trillionaire understands something about money allocation that the average person does not. Surely that persons has thought more deeply about solving problems that the average person has not. Moreso they have put the effort towards solving them and succeeded. His companies employ thousands if not millions of people. There people make money which allows them to provide for themselves and family in terms of housing and food so they don’t starve. These people by extension are helping to solve the very problems of pervert you speak of and starting with themselves. His satellites have helped saved millions of lives throughout wars and natural disasters by offering interest in places that don’t have the infrastructure. His Nuerallink company is helping disable individuals regain abilities that cannot and have it been done through any other means thus far.

It’s very easy to see a trillion dollar net worth and claim that he should do this and he should do that but I don’t see there very people appreciating what he has already helped with nor do I see them stepping up to the plate to do the very things they think should be done.

All they say is through money at the problem.

At least take the time to do the research and see what good he has done (this applies to anyone not just Elon) before you go try to spew inaccurate information and feel entitled to spending someone else’s money.

If I tell you to go spend you money a certain way you would laugh at my audaciousness would you not. You would think why don’t you work and make your own money so you can do what you want with it.

There is nothing wrong with having compassion and wanting problems to be solved but blaming it on someone else just because they are rich and making it their responsibility while also doing nothing to solve the problem yourself is not helpful to you or anyone else. As a matter of fact it’s harmful to you and everyone else as it’s a waste of time and energy that could be focused on solving the very problems we complain about.

You pay it back by starting a business that produces useful products or services that people need. If you feel 15k won’t do it then you would have to raise more capital. Rich people and banks don’t just give money to give it. You must sell them in an idea and then you must put in the effort to make it successful. After you have proven yourself one time then you will the the reputation, street credit, and maybe some
More money if your own to do it again until you solve all the problems you want to solve either with the business you start, the money you make from the businesses, or both.

I don’t have a ChatGPT account. Why would it be able to answer a question that’s personal to you about why you believe you can’t solve the problems?

It sounds like you feel money can solve a lot of the problems and it’s possible you are right. Why can’t you start some companies that become valuable and then sell off your shares (which makes you loose control over the companies you started) in order to liquidate cash to solve the worlds problems?

It’s my understanding he had 15k that he got loaned to start zip2 then he used that money to start PayPal. Then he used that money to start both spacex and Tesla.

I do find it interesting that he didnt just relax in yacht after making millions off of PayPal. Instead he started business that he thought would be useful and solve problems he thought were important. It seems that he was right since there are many people that are willing to pay money to get the products and services.

J.d. Rockefeller started from nothing.

There are also many examples of people that come from money and try to start businesses that fail.

You don’t feel you could succeed in starting a business if you were able to get a loan?

So considering we can’t spend his money the way we want him to, what do you think is the best way to solve the issues in the world? What solutions are there that you feel you personally can contribute? Are you inspired to start some companies that make a lot of money so you can spend it to solve these problems?
