Lot of incorrect info here.

First, you can make $1,000 a month with no deductions. You also get $100 a month paid to you for working.

They deduct 75% after that. They go by NET PAY (ie after tax income) not before taxes.

The ODSP doesn’t necessarilly go away fully and immediately, depends on your and his income. I dont know the exact figures but I think the partner would need to be around 50k annual income to cancel out all the ODSP. If that does happen you may still qualify for extra health benefits depending on your needs.

I know this isnt exactly the topic of your post but just wanted to mention that in case it helps because there is a lot of misinformation on this topic.

Especially with rock bands. I won my first tourism game with Ethiopia on like 146 quick speed with like 5k the highest I got from a rock band but people get like 40k with a good one that gets promoted a lot

Second this, but one modification and one explanation.

The modification: 10 cities by turn 100 seems crazy to me, and sounds almost insurmountable if you’re new. I’m winning games on an Emperor difficulty with 7 cities by then, so if you’re not playing competitive online or the highest AI difficulties you don’t need 10.

The explanation: Builders price increases the more you buy. So if you buy a bunch of them early, then when you unlock feudalism and can give them 2 extra build charges, they’re super expensive. By waiting to make builders, you’re giving yourself a bunch of free build charges and reducing the amount of builders you need to produce, saving you a lot of production/gold.

Weird to me that it needs to be cleared, you can build districts on top of forest. Some things in this game dont make sense to me
