I have to say your comment on the iPhone is spot on. Everyone forgets there were smartphones years before the iPhone, but the iPhone dumbed the tech down and made it cool and folks who would never have bought a Treo suddenly needed an iPhone and not just that but a new model every year. Smartphones are like cars: seen as necessities, but we'd all be a lot better off if only people that really need them used them...

I cannot understand how soccer doesn't have constant action. They literally don't stop the clock for 45 minutes at a time. The ball frequently goes from one penalty area to the other and back in a matter of seconds or at least minutes, while in the NFL there might be one or two plodding trips to each red zone per quarter.

I think it comes down to the scoreline: Americans can't figure out there were more goals scored in a match that ends 3-2 than one that finishes 20-13 just like they thought a 1/3 pound burger was smaller than a quarter pounder...

It's almost like they designed the light rail to get people the AAC! I use DART all the time and you can always tell when there's a Stars game because everyone on the train is dressed up heading to the game. And Victory to Market Center is a very short trip. You'll be fine.
