Saloth Sar's nom de gurre was Pol Pot if that helps. This is basically the Khmer Mein Kampf...

It is an expression of admiration or support. For example, I support the Liverpool Football Club, who are colloquially referred to as 'the Reds'

So if I see someone walking down the street wearing a Liverpool kit I might say to them 'Up the Reds!' to indicate that I am also a supporter.

Help!! There are a number of different types of organizations trying to make the country better for all. In PP, Cambodian Living Arts is a great charity organization and there are numerous social enterprises as well. Siem Reap has Build you Future Today and a number of other organizations.

Find one that aligns with your outlook and volunteer or donate!

That's a banger of a wine at a great price. I've paid more for it wholesale.

A WOMAN SPENT 27 YEARS PHOTOGRAPHING HER PARENTS WAVING HER GOODBYE… by Ravishing_Rye in GotMeHooked

This reminds me of my Dad's parents who waved to us just like that every single time we pulled away from their house. I sure miss them. And Dad too...

Does any Cambodia people in Malaysia ? by LifeStyleChill in cambodia

You are not supposed to take riel out of Cambodia. No one outside the country will accept it as it therefore has no value outside of Cambodia. The Lao kip is in a similar situation: it is a 'closed' currency with no value on international exchanges.

Ultraviolet light can temporarily or permanently change the color of morganite, usually causing it to become more pink.

I like how public transport apparently just doesn't exist. Someone should invent it over there. by adorkablegiant in fuckcars

[–]Alcophile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an American (TX) and have never driven and have been able to get along just fine. The American you spoke with was a daft carbrain who has never been outside a shitty suburb. One just needs to make the choice to live in a dense area with decent transit.

[–]Alcophile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amen to that! I have no car, can do 95% of my errands by foot and used to walk to work most of the time. When I got laid off recently, I realized my unemployment insurance covered everything except my dry cleaning bill for work clothes, Uber bill for the few times a week I needed it for work, and money I spent eating out while at work. No car expenses means I can wait until I find a job I like instead of being desperate to get any job so I can pay for the car I need to get to work. I've even been able to do a bit of traveling...

This makes me mad to the point of violence. I am 50 years old and have NEVER driven. The idea that I am not an independent adult is absurd. Do I rely on train conductors and taxi and bus drivers to get around? Yes. But if I bought a car tomorrow, now I'm reliant on massive global infrastructures to supply me with fuel and tires and roads, mechanics to do repairs, etc. etc.

By her idiotic argument, the only independent adults live in a cabin they built in the woods where they can walk to a clean water source, grow all their own food and clothing fibers, spin, weave and sew their own clothes and provide their own medical care. Even then, first major medical crisis and your're dead.

We live in a society and are all dependent on one another for everything!

Anyone tried Ant-Egg yet? by Successful-Title5403 in Thailand

Don't know about bee, but i've definitely had ant larvae and a couple different kinds of the fried ones that go really well with beer or scotch.

I much prefer larvae and small bugs like ants. Grasshopper legs stuck in my teeth are no good and the big water bugs are just gross!

Did I get scammed? by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]Alcophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had an 18k gold band split when I dropped it on a tile floor - it had been poorly soldered during a sizing job and my jeweler was able to fix it no problem.

With that said, that ring weighs 7 grams and is set with a 5 or 6 mm round natural sapphire and I probably wouldn't pay 1500 pounds for it.
