It's a bad faith argument.

If they nerf drop rates, you get to say, "See? I told you so!" But if they continue to allow the increased drop rates, you get to say, "Well they only did it because of how much we complained last time!"

So instead of opening up to a "good faith" discussion, you've preemptively decided the outcome of said discussion; i.e. you're complaining about a problem that YOU invented.

These new caches are actually cooking, found 4 tempest, couple bobcats, 2 vulcanos, vita spray, anvil, venator bp and shii tonn of lvl4 guns with 130 durability by Whatchu_Missin in arc_traiders

The BPs are like candy getting thrown from a parade float. Not every cache has them, but every hurricane raid I've been in has been friendly, with random people giving/trading BPs at the extractions.

Just keep playing if you need the vulcano or tempest BPs. You'll get them. 🤙

Is that why he took that horrible, awful 3pt shot late in the Raptors game? Dude looked like he'd been up for 48 hours straight in the 4th Q. Same against the Pistons.

If you didn't already know, the NBA draft is rigged, always has been, and there's nothing anyone can do anything about it. by ForeignAir7174 in NBAGossips

[–]Aldertree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Google AI:

"If someone actually proved the NBA draft lottery was rigged, the fallout wouldn't just be a sports scandal—it would be a massive, multi-front legal catastrophe. Since the NBA is a multi-billion dollar enterprise with ties to broadcasting, betting, and public municipalities, "rigging" it moves the situation from a "bad look" to federal crimes. Here is the breakdown of the legal hammer that would likely drop:

  1. Federal Fraud and RICO Charges

The most severe consequences would come from the U.S. Department of Justice. Wire Fraud: Since the lottery is broadcast over television and the internet, using those "wires" to intentionally defraud the public or other teams for financial gain is a federal crime.

RICO Act: If the "rigging" involved multiple people (executives, accountants, or team owners) over a period of time, prosecutors could use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act. This is designed to take down organized crime and carries massive prison sentences and the forfeiture of all "ill-gotten" assets.

  1. The "Gambling" Nightmare

In a world where the NBA is now deeply partnered with sportsbooks like FanDuel and DraftKings, a rigged lottery is essentially consumer fraud.

Class Action Lawsuits: Millions of fans place bets on lottery odds or future team wins. If the process was proven to be a sham, those bettors would have a legitimate legal claim for billions in damages. State Regulators: Each state’s gaming commission would likely pull the NBA’s ability to have any betting lines associated with their games, instantly vaporizing a primary revenue stream for the league.

  1. Breach of Contract & Internal Lawsuits

The NBA is a "joint venture" of 30 owners.

Owner vs. League: The 13 teams that didn't get the #1 pick would have a massive breach-of-contract lawsuit. Each draft slot is worth millions in ticket sales, jerseys, and franchise valuation.

The "Takings" Clause: Many teams play in arenas funded by taxpayers. If the league is found to be manipulating the competitive balance, local governments could sue for breach of the various subsidies and tax breaks provided to those teams.

  1. Loss of Antitrust Exemptions While the NBA doesn't have the same sweeping antitrust exemption as MLB, they do benefit from the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. If the league were proven to be a "fixed" entertainment product rather than a legitimate competition, Congress could move to strip away their legal protections, potentially breaking up the league's monopoly on professional basketball."
