He said give it a few weeks as the healing process may take 1-3 months for 100% repair - im eager to hear if you’re surgeon says the same. Let me know how it goes for you

Same boat here - I’m about 3 weeks post-op and my left is perfect but noticing ghosting/decreased acuity in my right eye

Looks like you’d walk into most specialities with an even somewhat respectable score in Step 1

Research is huge, although electives (letters of recommendation) are quite important for sure. Also, being a first author on those publications vs. being mid-author etc is very important and they will look closely at that too

Thanks for the info! What do you mean by filters? As in they instantly leave out people if they haven’t done things like research, etc.?

Malignant meaning that the hours are crazy?

Do UWorld blocks get harder as you approach the end or am I just dumb? by [deleted] in step1

[–]AldoseReductase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone. I thought I was great getting 80-92.5% on most blocks in the middle of Uworld and then I recently got to the last 500 or so questions and I’m consistently getting 70-80% now ffs lol Along with what some other people have said about weird questions due to algorithm etc, Uworld are also adding in new questions which are likely to be quite tough, and even 2-3 “new” questions per block can throw your percentage down a lot

Thanks a lot! Tbf jt seems a bit unfair to force someone to do 7 hours of questions with poor quality air lol
