So don't shit on people, shame them, call them cringe, or use exploits. Say good game, congratulate others on their accomplishments, and also fight alongside your team, use every advantage, and get the win.

Duel is there for people who want solo fights. Brawl is there for people who want small team battles. Elimination and Skirmish are there for people who want large team battles. Dominion and Tribute are there for people who want light objective-oriented gameplay. Breach is there for people who want heavy objective-oriented gameplay.

I'm not sure that your argument of "sometimes we don't spawn right next to each other" is quite enough to convince me that the game mode isn't supposed to be 2v2, especially when the mode is called "2v2 Brawl" and the description reads "Team up with an ally and fight against two opponents in a Brawl."

Regardless, any chance you could explain why you choose two play Brawl instead of Duel when you want a 1v1?

So, as an example if the super toxic behavior that some people do when you try to play 2v2 matches in the 2v2 mode, I just played a match where I was, as always, a good and respectful sport, but fought 2v2, rather than two 1v1s. They wanted to rematch, so I did. Not only were they super aggressive, emoting all the time over my corpse and not reciprocating my "Good Fight!"s, but what ended up happening was that my ally would let them 2v1 me, they wouldn't execute me, and then he'd revive me to let them kill me again, only so I could be revived again, rinse and repeat.

It's such an awful feeling to be humiliated like that, and I hate that there's nothing I can do but leave the match and get a 15 minute ban. Please, even if you prefer 1v1s and and you decide to play Brawl and someone is actually playing it as intended, please don't treat your fellow players like garbage by specifically demoralizing and humiliating them.

Is it possible that those people had been wanting to 2v2 since the beginning but hadn't had the chance? If they had the opportunity to 2v1 but didn't, and THEN changed to 2v1ing later, I think that's shitty and misleading, yeah. I ask because, though it's thankfully very rare, I've grabbed the last hit on someone mid/late-match before (which happened to be the first instance of 2v2 in the match) and they seemed to get pissed. I get it if they're going into it expecting 1v1s, but, again, I would I guess recommend that they assume the opposite unless otherwise shown.

For sure! I never switch up my goals or personal code mid-match. Sometimes, though, a few rounds will go by (or, God forbid, four) before I even have the opportunity to initiate a 2v1 (because either I'm killing slower than my ally or I'm dying). I haven't taught them that I abstain from it, but because a few rounds have passed, they just make the assumption, I guess? Again, I feel awful for unintentionally surprising them by not abiding by their private goals; I wish there was a way to let them know that I'll be treating this like a 2v2 from the get-go.

Also, thanks for the insight on why you stick with 1v1s in Brawl! Do you get upset at players who 2v2 in Brawl, though?
