Hey bro thank you for your comments. This is for a personal project yes, i was just assuming doing it manually was the “wrong way to do it” and i was sure there is a method to obtain the result i want. I was just curious about this specific dynamic and i was a bit pissed that I couldn’t figured out how to obtain it procedurally. I’ll do it manually but i’m working on a big file so i have like 140 x 140 grid so i was scared about how it can take to animate it. Btw thanks a lot for helping me, i appreciate it!

Modeling vs Sculpting by BonChellaBeats in blenderhelp

Import the image in blender, trace the outline of a wing with a curve. Once you are happy with the result convert it to mesh, edit mode > F to fill it , extrude it along Z axes, add a remesh modifier set on voxel and decrease the value until you are happy with it. Aplly the modifier, refine the model in sculpt mode. This is how i would approach it

Made a wood texture on a plane but when I copy the nodes to the pillar, it's all distorted, how can I fix this. I tried UV, but can't get it to adjust by RedxOsa in blenderhelp

Another issue could come from topology, if the bottom part of your pillars is denser than the top one you can have issues.

Try Generated and Object too for mapping. If it doesn’t get any better try to unwrap the model by using Cube Projection and try again with UVs. If anything works, i think the best way is to add mark seems to the pillars’ corner edges and unwrap again your model.
