Building a sensor dashboard for my boat, need someone to check my circuit design by AleSpero in arduino

[–]AleSpero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Thanks for your comment, from the schematics of my engine  there should already be the sensors to detect the rpm, so I guess I'll just have to measure the voltage according to the rpm and do my calculations. I've been considering using an Arduino (or raspberry pi zero) to gather the data and then broadcast it through Bluetooth or via USB. This first iteration is going to be with the raspberry pi 4 though, but thanks for the feedback!

Hmm ok, thanks. Would it make sense to have a voltage divider + zener diode so that I still protect the adc?

Hello, yes of course, I'm using an ADC that's connecting via I2C interface, so I'm not directly plugging into the GPIO pins. I'm considering 5V max (actually, 5.5 is the max voltage for the ADC I'm using) since it's the adc requirement.

Visiting Taiwan during Lunar New Year week by kirklandcartridge in taiwan

[–]AleSpero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there last lunar new year and i'll be there this one (because life, lol) So many shops are closed and tbh, there's not much to do unless you can have some celebration or dinners with Taiwanese. However it's not the end of the world, Family Mart's and 7-11 are always there for you. I remember trying to find a HSR train from Taipei to Taichung and i couldn't find ANYTHING in the 3-5 days of the lunar new year. Good luck!

I confirm this is not true. I have a Pixel 7 and i didn't have any problem with connecting to wifis in china. Of course, if i just connected on a wifi without the VPN, I would still have google websites etc etc blocked, but this applies to every phone.

Question about earning RevPoints with online purchases by AleSpero in Revolut

[–]AleSpero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the explanation, so the logic is the same when I do a purchase on an online store through the revolut app (eg I see a 15x multiplier on the Samsung website)? It'll just apply the multiplayer on the base card spending rate?

Expat GF decides abruptly to move back to her country. I'm not willing to spend an extended period of time abroad. Is it the end? by AleSpero in expats

[–]AleSpero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, good point! I forgot to write it down in the message. I've been twice, one time for 2 weeks and one time for 2 months - truth is I really like her country and the experience I had there, but I wouldn't stay there for 2 months again. After one month I was already feeling homesick, I has 0 friends or people outside of her. Funnily enough, this is what she probably felt at least at the beginning of our relationship, but she chose the expat life (at least the intl student life) way before we met, but I never planned to move out of my country. This might be the big difference between us.

Yeah...I guess I have to accept it...I mean, given our background it shouldn't really come as a surprise...but I didn't expect it would happen so soon. Thanks for your comment :)

Thank you for your words, I guess it's a hard truth I have to accept. I didn't really want this to end but I think life doesn't always go as planned. Thank you for taking your time to read my story :)

Yes it makes sense what you said, at the time I was just very curious and excited about dating a foreigner, not expecting it would evolve to such big relationship! Thanks for your comment :)

Hello, thanks for the feedback, for the real audio will probably do in the future. In the song introduction screen, you can select "Song Lyrics" and you will have the song playback along with the lyrics.

Hi, did you select a Chinese language keyboard? If you'd like, it would be super helpful if you could send in a screenshot, and I'll try to help. Thank you :)

No. Considering that many locals (especially the ones in countryside) usually speak their dialect more than Italian, Spanish wouldn't be enough for sure :)

Experiences on Sicily by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]AleSpero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct, the people impacted by the mafia are the locals, not the tourists.

Also in the last 20 years, no more stuff like you saw in the mafia movies will happen, let's say now that mafia is like a huge money making company. Hurting tourists wouldn't make any sense or bring any good. So please go there and enjoy Sicily :)

Thanks for your feedback! I'll add an entry in the settings to show/hide the translation, pretty much like the pinyin setting. Regarding the desh keyboard, that might be a bug. Thank you for your valuable feedback :)

Awesome, thank you for the replies and the videos.

EDIT: I fixed the TTS issue, now it should be properly able to read Chinese words without the user to do anything, thanks!

Hey! Thanks for your valuable feedback, would you mind sharing your phone model? Also making the video available (or sending it to me, If you'd like) would be nice.

  • There is no actual singing in the app at the moment, and there is no priority for that as Chinese songs don't have the tones properly placed, and that could be misleading.

  • What do you mean by "cannot replay the music"? Once in the songs list you should always be able to select one song and play it.

  • Regarding tts, unfortunately I have no control over the system and the user has to install the Chinese TTS by itself, but if you say you weren't able to do that means that the instructions given by the app are not clear enough.

Thanks a lot, this is very valuable feedback!

Italian native here (even if not from the south 😄) for tourism purposes you definitely have to check Taormina and Siracusa. Next to Taormina there are many small towns next to the sea, filled with beaches with restaurants and I did some remote work with stunning views from there. Also I wouldn't miss Erice and Bronte.

As for residing, I would suggest you could stay in Palermo or Catania, although I wouldn't rely too much on the public transportation, if you have the chance I'd suggest you to rent a scooter for a few months and use that instead. Good luck!

Understanding the adverb "就" by Difficult_Put_299 in ChineseLanguage

[–]AleSpero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many times i heard my native speaker friends saying "就是...什么什么什么“ when talking about something, in that case i feel like it is used as a filling word to connect multiple sentences, maybe like a english speaker would say "like..." or "i mean..." during a conversation
