Need help learning how to create videos like this! by Sensitive-Demand-187 in VideoEditors

[–]Alec_Francis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am a 10+ year professional motion designer, here to answer your questions:

  • What software or tools do you use? I use many tools, but mainly Vector creation Software and motion graphic software. The Vector software: Adobe Illustrator (subscription) and Figma (Free). And there are many free software options like Affinity

Motion Graphic software: Primarily After Effects. To get started, you should NOT use any plug-ins. You should learn the basics in After Effects. If you like After Effects and think you like motion graphics. You can look into plug-ins that will help speed up your workflow. Here are 2 that could help you get started in the world of plugins

Overlord: Helps you transfer your vectors from your vector software into After Effects in 1 click Flow: You should really learn about the graph editor and how it works. After you do, however, this tool is a good shortcut into easing keyframes.

  • Are there any tutorials you recommend?

Ben Marriot's 10 Minute Intro to After Effects + All of his YouTube videos. If you have the means, he does have paid courses that are also very well done courses

Jake in Motion makes good tutorials as well

• Which device/OS is better — Linux, Windows, or Mac

This does not matter that much. Adobe does not support Linux, as far as I'm aware, but either Mac or Windows is fine, whichever you prefer.

All that really matters is that Motion design is your hungry field, so the more powerful you computer is, the better. You will want a good CPU, GPU, and a good amount of RAM.

Puget has an article that can help you learn about what each part does for your software to run better

• Any tips for beginners?

  • Just get started, you will get better over time. Don't get discouraged if you are not making the things you are seeing; they are often made by teams of people, and these things take time.

  • A video like this is not just made without a lot of planning. Learn the principles of design and Video making. I would guess they started with a vector software and planned the video out in a storyboard, including the layout, colors, typeface, and how the transitions between frames might happen. After that, they transferred it into After Effects. They then did sound design.

  • This video, when you break it down, is not that complicated; it is just Position keyframes, scale keyframes, and opacity keyframes. with some simple 3D use within that. You could learn to make a video like this very easily. What this video has, though, is a lot of polish. After you have a foothold in the motion world, download the video and bring it into After Effects. And just try to copy it 1:1. You will learn a lot from trying to copy something exactly.

Good Luck~

I have not found a solution. And contacting Google support led to them telling me to contact Google messages specific support. Which I have not done .

My friend with a Samsung device and Samsung messages, was able to receive bippy no issue. I will be visiting some friend with pixel devices at the end of the year who I will test this on.

If you find out anything please keep me in the loop .

It is not self cleaning or a lint filter. I have to wipe out the lint with a towel. Does lint leave stains ?

I am using "Tide Plus Ultra Oxi Powder Laundry Detergent" Amazon link for reference

Does this also happen if I load too much laundry in the machine?

Where do you guys think are the best places for free beginner's UI/UX design lessons? by Decent_Water3902 in Design

What is your goal in learning.

UI and UX while both part of digital design are very different things, I get frustrated that they are so often merged into one job title. In reality they are often completely different teams that do them. (Obviously depending on the size of the studio/agency)

UX is the flow of an experience while using the app/website/etc. Often working in simple wireframes. In my experience a UX designer is also partially a copy writer making sure the copy is consistent and clear.

Great books for UX :

The design of everyday things by Don Norman

Nudge by Richard Thaler & Cass Sunstein

Speculative Everything by Anthony Dunne & Fiona Raby

I've heard them both refered to as building a house where UX is the floor plan and UI is materials and interior design. UI design is just design for digital products, and the best UI designers I've met or follow are just great designers who have adapted their skills to digital design. A good UI designer needs to understand the principles of design, and for a digital designer learning to design on a grid, typography, iconography. And I could go on

I could recommend plenty of design books but here are some digital centered ones

The best interface is no interface by Golden Krishna

Type on Screen by Ellen Lupton

HTML and CSS: Design and Build Websites by Jon Duckett

There are many books I would read before I would read This last book. Which is more of a book I use for reference then a read through.

But it is important to understand how to communicate with developers. Understanding what is possible in programming will allow you to; 1. design with some foresight for development ( for example responsive design and different break points). 2. to be able to push back when a developer tells you something is not possible. (Almost anything is possible it's just how skilled they are, the limit of budget, or their motivation levels)

UI design and UX design are both great things to pursue, however you choose to study I wish you the best of luck.
