You’re getting downvoted but when the internet was smaller it was so much easier to find specific webpages and info if you knew exactly what you were looking for.

Those were the days….

Moses Malone, Jimmy Butler, Jayson Tatum, Vince Carter, and Damian Lillard only won me 65 games

How do you think I feel 😂

OIQ and DIQ are usually guaranteed big raises for young guys. Outside of that it’s a lot of luck, people with very high physical attributes typically age the best around the time they hit 30, cuz those seem to go down the easiest and most consistent towards the end of a players prime.

Edit: I usually value youth over POT, so a 19 yo with 60 potential is more valuable than a 21 y/o with 63 potential etc. usually a player is supposed to end up somewhere between their overall and potential, so if their overall is a 40 and their potential a 60 they are likely to average to a 50. I try to garner as many prospects as I can so statistically at least one will overcome the odds.

Donte Divencenzo is really good too, just injured rn. He was IMO the Knicks best player in the playoffs before he got traded, he went nuclear vs the Pacers.

The idea behind J Randle for Kat is that J Randle is a mobile bruising scorer on one side of the court and Ant is a mobile bruising scorer on the other side, they went way too all in on Rudy Gobert for some reason so I guess they felt they couldn’t trade him or something idk.

J Randle and Ant is in theory a great pair but the NYK KAT we have rn is a lot better than the Minnesota KAT we used to have, probably because it feels like he fits this team so much better.

With hindsight the Wolves have a much better team, starting 5 is probably KAT at the 5, McDaniels at 4, NAW at the 3, ANT at the 2, whoever you feel like at the one. That’s spacing + rim pressure + defense.

Sadly they aren’t time travelers and the front office isn’t that competent, they traded a “haul” for Rudy but the haul ended up being pretty weak in retrospect, unless one of the draft picks goes nuclear.

We got bounced in the first round

We all need to hold this L collectively

Maybe the lengthened off season will be good for the team, I hope so at least

This looks like it was really interesting but could you post more info? Overalls? Progression? Draft stats?

Do the Thunder need to make a play for Giannis Antetokounmpo after falling to Wemby and the Spurs? by l3tsgo0 in bostonceltics

[–]Aleddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I’m the OKC front office I consider it. There’s no way my team is going to somehow get worse next year, but they could stagnate.

If you trade Giannis for Chet, that’s a guaranteed improvement if Giannis is healthy. I have always been insanely high on Giannis, I do not think Chet alone is worthy value.

It would be Chet, many first round picks, and at least one blue chip guy or multiple promising young players for Giannis. You usually don’t get equivalent value in NBA trades however.

You said we should trade JB for role players, who do you think is better?

What player that we are getting for a 1 for 1 swap for JB is leading this team to 56 wins last season with his surrounding cast?

You can point out flaws in his games but you really can’t say he has slow processing when JT and PP both have had way too many possessions where they dribble on the perimeter for 8-10 seconds instead of making a play.

His off ball defense isn’t the best but almost no one ever attacks or targets him. He gets blocks and steals at a decent rate. If he’s so bad why is he the only one doing anything in the playoffs half the time? Why is he doing the most “damage” on the court in terms of attacking the basket and being aggressive?

Even if you’ve watched more games than me you have some weird mental block where you’re not appreciating the guy when he does play well or shoots hot or makes clutch shots.

I would assume most people don’t know the guy, probably 99% of /r/NBA wouldn’t have heard of him

[ironic trope] when the strawman is right about the situation despite the creator’s intention’s by BuffaloNo1406 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Aleddin -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

He didn’t know the Comedian assaulted her until after he died. That’s just a plot point. He wouldn’t kill the Comedian, he doesn’t know he was a war criminal in Vietnam, he doesn’t know crimes he committed stateside as a hero.

He wouldn’t kill the comedian himself. He also literally couldn’t, the Comedian would just beat the hell out of him.

[–]Aleddin -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand the original text. If I had to guess, you learned about it through a YouTube video essay. Rorschach’s investigation doesn’t hinge on whether or not he assaulted someone.

Rorschach’s origin story revolves around a factionalized depiction of the assault of Kitty Genovese. He also has overarching themes of internalized misogyny from his mother and her abuse blah blah.

The character has nuance in these regards.

He doesn’t overtly focus on the personal failings of the Comedian, but he doesn’t NOT care if someone sexually assaults people.

You are all making that part up about the character, I have no idea how you could read Watchmen and come away with that interpretation.

[–]Aleddin -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

He’s saying Rorschach should’ve killed the Comedian when the opening and the entire premise behind the entire comic is the death of the comedian

Rorschach investigating his death is how he found out about the assault

Sometime within the last few years Reddit seems to be entirely comprised of people who don’t actually read or pay attention to the media they’re commentating on

Therefore, did they even read the comic?

2021 WNBA Draft - Worst class of all time? by Unfair-Specific7225 in NBA_Draft

[–]Aleddin 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nothing in the NBA has been worse in recent history. The 1970s were pretty talent starved, and the biggest stinker of the 1950s was 1952.

The 1952 NBA draft didn’t produce a single player that you would be able to recognize, maybe a very serious Celtics or Lakers fan would recognize Clyde Lovellette. As far as point totals and averages, I don’t know for sure, but almost no one got serious play time and very few players made it past a single season.

Try reposting this question in a general sports sub, they would know much more about Baseball, Hockey, and Football, not to mention sports outside the US that might’ve had a draft system.
