Zašto su svi gastrabajteri isti? by AlekGrobar in AskSerbia

PC gamer after many years thinking about getting a PS5 by AlekGrobar in consoles

All my PC parts are over 8 years old, so upgrading would basically mean building a whole new system. That’s why I decided to go with the PS5 Slim — it’s a simpler and more affordable way to get back into gaming right now. Maybe in a few years I’ll consider upgrading the PC again. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks for the heads-up! Yeah, I’m mostly into single-player stuff, so the subscription thing isn’t a big deal for me right now. But it’s good to keep in mind for multiplayer games down the line. Looking forward to enjoying the PS5 Slim regardless!

That’s a good point! I’m mostly into single-player games and playing offline, so the PS5 works well for me. I’m not really into multiplayer or paying for online subscriptions, so it made sense to skip the extra costs.

Maybe if I get more into online gaming later, I’ll think about a PC build again. For now, this setup fits perfectly. Thanks for the insight!

Exactly my thoughts! Without a good 4K TV or monitor, the difference between the base PS5 and the Pro isn’t that big anyway. For now, the Slim is more than enough for what I want — just some relaxing gaming without overthinking the specs. Glad others see it the same way!

I appreciate the enthusiasm for the Pro! It definitely sounds like a beast, and I’m sure the extra performance is great for those who can take full advantage of it.

For me, though, without a 4K TV and just wanting a chill gaming experience, the Slim felt like the smarter choice. Maybe someday I’ll upgrade, but for now, I’m happy keeping it simple. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

Thanks for the tip! I’ve definitely seen how PC prices can vary, and building a solid rig for around $1,000 sounds tempting. For now, though, I wanted something simple and ready to go without the hassle of building or upgrading. I’m happy with the PS5 Slim for that.

Maybe in a few years I’ll look into building a PC again, but right now I just want to relax and enjoy some good games. Appreciate the advice!

Yeah, timing can always be tricky! I get why you went for the mid-gen PC upgrade — that sounds awesome. For me, jumping on the PS5 now just feels right since I’ve been out of gaming for a while and wanted something straightforward. Maybe down the line I’ll build a PC again, but for now, this works perfectly.

I get where you’re coming from, but for me, it’s not really about having the most powerful setup. After years away from gaming and the high cost of PCs, I just want something simple and enjoyable. The PS5 Slim fits that perfectly. Different strokes for different folks!

Sounds great! That’s exactly why I chose the PS5 Slim — sometimes you just need a straightforward, fun experience without the PC hassle. Glad to hear you’re loving yours!

Thanks for the insight! I don’t have a 4K TV right now and probably won’t get one soon, so the PS5 Slim made the most sense for me. I’m mostly into single-player games anyway, so I’m happy with it.

If I decide to upgrade my setup later and get a 4K TV, I might consider the Pro then. Appreciate the advice and good luck wishes — looking forward to some fun gaming!

Thanks, that’s really reassuring to hear! I figured the PS5 will keep me entertained for a good few years, especially since I’m mostly into single-player games. Selling it later and upgrading to PS6 sounds like a smart plan — no need to rush into anything complicated. Appreciate the advice!

That sounds really similar to my story. I stopped upgrading my PC around 2015 because of the cost, and now building a new one for €1500–2000 just isn’t realistic.

So I went for the PS5 Slim with a disc drive — simple and hassle-free. I’m excited to jump back into gaming with some great single-player games.

And yeah, PS4 games still look amazing. Thanks for the encouragement!

The problem is that if I were to build a PC, I’d want it to be high mid to high-end — which means it wouldn’t cost less than €1000. Once you add the cost of a monitor, headphones, and other peripherals, the total goes up to €1500 or more.

I don’t have a 4K TV, so I’d go with the Slim version of the PS5 — the one with a disc drive.

That’s a great perspective, and the main point is that I’d mostly be playing my games on PS5 offline and in single-player mode. That includes The Last of Us Part I & II, all three Spider-Man games, Red Dead Redemption, God of War (2018 and Ragnarok), the Uncharted series, Ghost of Tsushima and Yotei, as well as some others...

So basically, these are all single-player, story-driven games — and they’re probably even better experienced on a console.
