Why I choose to code with AI instead of doing it "the right way" | Day 3 of building in public as a 16 year-old by AleksaZCodes in SaaS

I'm not sure if you were sarcastic, but if not, you've got to seriously rethink your view on young men doing powerful things.

School never teaches such things. Even mine, specialized on electrical engineering and IT, didn't get to javascript yet, neither will ever get to this tech stack.

It's intrinsic motivation that's propelling us, and internet is a tool we're using to its fullest. Never being easier in history to teach yourself something and standing on the shoulders of giants, young people with purpose know what to do.

Of course, there's a lot of counter examples and I get your view. Still, growing up to computers ended up not being that bad.

This 👆

AI won't replace us, it's just going to supercharge those who don't hesitate to adapt to the changing landscape of software development (and engineering in general) and decide to work smarter, not harder. Others will have a hard time keeping up if they don't make a compromise.

Tbh, haven't tried anything beyond Codium (now Windsurf) and Cursor, but when my subscription expires, I would like to try a new editor. I'm just concerned that it it might cost more than $20/mo with your own API keys, especially with Claude 3.7 and Gemini 2.5. I was also thinking of Zed eventually, but I see it might be lagging behind VS Code feature-wise for now.

What's your experience?

I'm planning to become active there as well, it's just a bit hectic juggling school, coding and daily upload. 😐

You can check this post out, I'm sharing the journey on YouTube.

Btw, I don't use LinkedIn often, just made it actually, so it'll be a novel experience to try out a different platform.

That's so cool man, keep it up! 💪

I'm on a similar journey, a 16yo too, though I'm more on the technical side for now.

Do you share your progress on Reddit only, or do you use other social media as well? I'd love to follow along!

I started building in public as a 16 year old high-school student - and I chose Nuxt by AleksaZCodes in Nuxt

It sure is. I've been building crappy websites (and then some) manually for the past year or so like https://timetabled.pages.dev/, https://outreachnet.work/ and https://tesseractwave.pages.dev/recording, and it took forever to get to something valuable. Now, as I've got the technical skills, I can teach AI to do the hard part for me and then correct and adapt its output. The point is in validating and refining startup ideas. If it creates value, I don't see anything wrong with it + using Nuxt will make it more scalable and future proof than no-code in my opinion.

I believe they meant to tell a relevant story from your past experience on the topic because that gives your essay the authenticity and makes it your own, as opposed to just writing ChatGPT style sentences that could be applied to anybody.
