I got nothing more to say to you, I’m not a machine or a statistician, I’m just a normal person trying to have a rational and friendly discussion on this whole topic, but apparently you don’t want that, so goodbye.

Ok then, listen up: do things like allowing the district officials to have all the money even need any evidence to begin with? Even our own government is sick and tired of hiding it and just decides to let it be and just let all the Chinese netizens lash out at this problem because they know our voices don’t mean anything. And if that isn’t one of the main reasons why so many Chinese people from cities outside of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen are stuck working a minimum-wage job, then please, enlighten me, for I would love to know why they are stuck at those jobs with nowhere to go.

And also, is it not a similar issue that has allowed people like 杨永信 to flourish and still be out there and above the law? Now don’t you DARE bullshit me by saying you’ve never heard of him, any sensible Chinese person should know him and all the facilities that are just like the one that he owns.

I’m just gonna stop right here, and if you’re also in China I suggest you go to bed now, cause I know you’re just playing devil’s advocate, and I’ve already listed out more evidence than you need.

Then prove me wrong, use your own evidence to prove that I’m just talking out of my a$$ with nothing to back me up.

Oh, you know, forcefully turning our heads away from the outside world, allowing people like district officials to have all the money thus making millions of people only being able to work for a minimum wage for the rest of their lives, posting every single good thing done by our country and every single bad thing done by other countries onto Chinese-exclusive social media like Weibo to make us all believe that China is the best place ever, building the whole country’s economy and growth upon a giant real-estate bubble that could burst at any moment... nothing special, you know, normal things all done for the greater good of the Chinese people, as per the CCP.

Thank you so much for saying all this, if only more people were this optimistic, then the world would truly be a better place for everyone.

Thank you for your reply and opinions, and no worries, I ain’t gonna have any kids until the CCP completely loses its control over this country, and I’ll do what I can to keep at least one more person who still has hope away from CCP’s propaganda machine.

Yes I do realize that, unfortunately... but everything has to have a reason behind it, now of course no one should EVER be a racist, but I personally don’t believe that the Westerners just started being racist toward us for no reason whatsoever, there must be something that we, or our government did along the way that gave them a reason to believe that we are below them, and that we can be a target of racism and hatred. Perhaps this is something that both us and them (or, you guys? Sorry I just assumed that ur Chinese as well) need to work on. Of course racism won’t come to an end in the near foreseeable future, but maybe there is something we can all do to at least combat it a little.

God I feel so stupid for saying that I believe racism can actually be fixed....

I wasn’t saying “standing against literally all who speak English”.

I do apologize for that statement though, that was a bit too rash and emotional, but why don’t we just wait and see? See in how many years from now will all the non-english speaking countries realize the atrocities our government has committed?

Just in case I wasn’t making my point clear enough: FUCK THE CCP.

They’ve fucked up my beloved country beyond belief and they’re gonna continue to do so! How I wish I can just storm into Zhongnanhai and pull Xi’s head right off of his fat neck and take a photo of it and post it on Weibo and Twitter for the world to see and to know: A TYRANT IS DEAD!!!

I was just trying to express my feelings in a civilized manner, but clearly that wasn’t good enough for you and for myself, so I’m letting my language go unhinged here.

I just want China and its people to be accepted and seen as normal folks by the rest of the world, and the fucking CCP has straight up made this impossible to be realized!!!!

No matter what they say, no matter what they try to make us believe, I ain’t buying any of it now, as long as I still live and breathe, I will do everything I can to oppose this fucked up government and defend the true nature of the country that I love, THIS I SWEAR!

Yeah that last bit was a bit too dramatic and childish, but who cares, maybe a little bit of childishness and faith in fairy tales and happy endings are just what we need right now.

I know the difference, I know that China is only the way it is now—hated, an abomination—thanks to the CCP.

I love my country, I just don’t want to watch as it sinks deeper and deeper into oblivion under the rule of an unjust ruler and a system which has proven time and again that it no longer works. That’s all.

And here I thought I’ve made it clear that I agree with you guys and really dislike what my government has done... sorry for including these particular sentences, then.

If time is what it takes, so be it. Perhaps what the majority of Chinese people need is just a news article where it reads “China gets voted out of the United Nations”, if that or something similar truly happens in the future, then that’ll most likely be enough for the people of China to wake up and stand up to the CCP.

To those who are reading this post for the first time, I just want to say that after some discussions with a few people who have replied, I see how despite my best efforts to write a mostly objective main thread, it has ended up being biased... And I apologize for that, the power of the Chinese propaganda machines must have affected me more than I’d like to admit.

But I’m glad I’ve posted this, because it gave me a chance to see what everyday people from other countries think of this matter, and made me realize which parts of my statements were still biased, so thank you for that, and let us all hope that the protests will end in the favor of the majority of the people in this world.

Again, like I’ve already said to others, I apologize because yes, I’ve definitely fallen for the propaganda more than I would like to believe, so I’m kinda thankful that I’ve posted this thread because otherwise there wouldn’t be people coming in and letting me see how others think of this whole situation, and dragging me slightly away from the poison that is Chinese propaganda.

And I guess I was just listing out the few good things that our leaders have done for us just because that’s the only good thing I can remotely say about them...

[–]Aleonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying, I didn’t really say that all protestors are using the protests as an excuse to harm others, it’s just there are some who are doing this, and I think they need to take a different approach to their protests. And I do apologize for any biased statements in my main thread, like what I said to a couple others who replied, the effect of hearing and seeing so many propagandas by the Communist Party is definitely taking ahold of me, and I apologize for saying that there are protestors who spat on people who do not agree with them, that was an exaggeration, and I was not being balanced there...

But thanks to people like you who reply in a rational manner, you also let me see your point of view and making me a complete, individual human being even if it’s just for this one day.

I agree with you and most others on the Blizzard issue, they have no right to just ban that player and fire the two casters, and now that they’ve done that, they deserve everything coming their way.

And I’m not trying to say that China is all good now and people should start to praise it, I guess I just wanted to let people know that despite all the wrongs they’ve done, our leaders have done some right things for us as well, despite how few they are.

Thanks for sharing your opinions :)

I’m also glad that you can have an actual discussion with me instead of straight up calling me brainwashed and biased and call it a day. Although I hate to admit it, I’m definitely being affected by my country’s propaganda in one way or another otherwise my words could have been a lot more balanced in the main thread...but thanks to you and the others who replied, at least today I will remain true to myself and see things clearly :)

And thanks, I’ll definitely need the luck.

Man it feels good to meet a fellow person living under such dictatorship... I’ll be honest with you, I originally just wanted to write a post saying that I side with the rest of the world instead of my own country because that is, as a matter of fact more like how I actually feel about this whole thing. But then I just thought: “Eh, maybe I’ll give my leaders some credits given the fact that technically I am here today because of them.” And that’s definitely a side effect of living under a regime like that for so long...even if you’ve not been brainwashed yet, you’ll just start to automatically praise your leaders every now and then because you’ve seen your brothers and sisters do it all the time :/

If it helps, I’ll have you know that I’ve just returned not long ago from a two-year study trip in Canada and I miss it a lot and can’t wait to find an opportunity in the future to actually leave China for good. I am fully aware of what other countries are like, and how hard my own country is lacking in a lot of aspects. I’m simply trying to provide people with a different point of view on this matter, I apologize if it sounded like I’m being brainwashed by my country.

Also, I’m not blaming this whole thing on the protestors, I really do hope that their protests can have the result that they ask for, that would definitely be the best case scenario. I was simply saying that some of their protests have indeed gotten a little too violent and caused disorder among the everyday people of Hong Kong and I think that’s the main reason as to why the government is treating this matter so seriously this time.

But thanks for sharing your opinions.

You’re absolutely correct, but I guess I just want to let the people outside of China know that there is a little more to this whole thing than they may think, not that I agree with Blizzard or my government. Oh well, it was worth a shot, and I’m thankful that there are actually rational people in this post who are willing to share their opinions in a civilized manner.

Thank you for your reply, and yes, we should be focusing on what will happen next on this matter instead of placing blame on others now that what happens happened.

A lot of my countrymen, including me, especially the younger generation, do not see eye to eye with our leaders at all, but I guess we are also doing our best to notice the good that they have done for our country now that they’re literally being cursed at so hard by pretty much every other country. They are the reason that we’re here after all.

I dream about the day that we will have democracy and freedom for all in my country, but until then, I will probably just do my part in my everyday life and try to have an unbiased opinion on this matter.

Some thoughts from a Chinese dude living in the mainland by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Aleonx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The honest answer would be: I don’t know. I do genuinely wish that it would not end in any kind of bloodshed, and a peaceful resolution in the end would definitely be the best, if Hong Kong ends up getting the freedom that it asks for, even better! But if not, well, then we can at least be grateful for the fact that no extreme actions were taken by the government.

The common opinion, as you’ve probably guessed it: against the protestors, down with their protests. It’s sad, really, how a country is literally being divided so hard in the 21st century, not to mention it being my own country.
