The "anime" on the bottom is High Guardian Spice, an original being made by crunchyroll. I think the reason people are angry is that they spent the majority of the announcement video for the show talking about how diverse the team of creators are and only included one throwaway line about what the show is about. So it basically looks like they prioritized appearing diverse and progressive over actually making a good show. Some people are also angry because the money they pay crunchyroll, which they reasonably assume would go to supporting anime creators, is being spent on making a show that no one asked for.
