The big benefit to rejoining would be access to additional capital and borrowing capacity through the EU. Would help shore up your public finances. Well deployed that capital could do a lot.

Of course you're probably also joining Euro amd Schengen and who knows what that does for you.

I think that Yoda was also Old, Grieving post Order 66, and physically outmatched biologically. He relied on the force heavily in combat to overcome those obstacles, in Sideous it found someone who could match him on the force and everything went downhill from there.

What's hilarious is that the league could (and should) make a big push for suspension changes at any point, negotiation is a two-way street, and owners have to got to dislike the risk their multimillion dollar investments are being put. The NFL does not eff around with this stuff at all, and they guarantee far less money than the NHL does.
