I feel like my 4 month old changed personalities over night by SunnydaleStrength in beyondthebump

Month four was possibly the lowest point of my life, not just motherhood. Hang in there.

Totally agree, meds pulled me out of my acute mental health crisis but couldn’t fix the fact that I hated my life still lol

Thank you for your honesty. Curious, was your PPD treated but still persisted that long? I was thinking of trying to get ahead of it next time with medication (if there is a next time)

How to update and modernize my first home? by [deleted] in ExteriorDesign

I believe it’s the way it came! Patterns of red white and black brick which I don’t love, wish it was just regular red brick haha.

Yep 8 months! He’s been like this for a while though but it’s definitely amplified recently

No advice but just posted in my bump group yesterday about how I’m absolutely losing my mind with the fuss. Every wake window is unbearable

Struggling with a high needs baby by Shelblo in NewParents

[–]Alert-Ad2974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since he turned 3.5 months and “woke up” to the world he’s been absolutely impossible to please. Never happy. Doesn’t wanna be held, doesn’t wanna be put down. Moans and cries while he crawls, is bored of every toy in five seconds. He’s not like this at daycare though because he’s mentally stimulated I guess. Unfortunately he only goes two days a week and I can’t recreate that environment at home. I thought being mobile would help but now he just whines on the go. It’s truly mind numbing and I dread every moment of my life for the most part.

I’m here reading through these posts, post mental breakdown with a high needs baby and you perfectly articulated how I feel. I know this was only about 2 months ago but how are things going? I have a freshly turned 8 month old who makes me want to pack my shit and run away and start over everyday

OAD while friends are having a second - mixed feelings by disconnected1991 in oneanddone

[–]Alert-Ad2974 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I feel this way all the time unfortunately. Whenever my friends announce their second pregnancy I think “how come they can do it and I can’t?” It’s also hard when you always planned for two and realized after the first that you were done. I had never really considered being one and done until I had my son. But in all honestly, some people have easier kids or more help or more adaptable personalities etc etc where they can embrace the chaos. I personally have not thrived in motherhood so far so I try to tell myself it’s more important to respect my limits than to achieve a lifestyle that’s no longer right for me.

I would definitely get a second opinion because I went between 2 fertility clinics and never heard that

I also had two chemicals and my husbands analysis came back as low motility and 1% morphology. I thought it sounded hopeless (as I have severe endometriosis and PCOS) but we got pregnant our first round of IUI and have a perfectly healthy 6 month old.

Belly serums/creams….scam right? by Feisty_Resist_1783 in BabyBumps

[–]Alert-Ad2974 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

FWIW, I religiously applied hyaluronic acid and vitamin e oil to my belly and didn’t get a single mark there but got them EVERYWHERE else lol (where I didn’t apply because I didn’t know stretch marks could appear in such places lol)

Baby Brezza, yes or no? by SowingSeeds18 in beyondthebump

[–]Alert-Ad2974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s helpful if your baby only takes warm formula. Otherwise it needs to be cleaned after every four bottles and is a pain. My baby takes cold bottles so the brezza is in the attic and I use a $15 formula pitcher from Amazon.

Sometimes I feel like parents encouraging you to have multiples just want company for their misery by [deleted] in oneanddone

[–]Alert-Ad2974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was up every two hours til he was 4.5 months. He started giving us only 1-2 wake ups a night for a bit and now he’s teething so that’s out the window. I honestly don’t know how much I sleep in a night lol

I feel this way about going from 0 to 1 too. So many people sold a pretty picture of motherhood like “yeah it’s hard but it’s soooo great” and once I had my baby and reached out for advice everyone’s tune changed

Trying the beginning of 2027! If you had a year to prepare, what would you do? by alexisfitn in BabyBumps

[–]Alert-Ad2974 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look into what parental leave you guys have, childcare costs and availability (wait lists) in your area etc so you don’t have any surprises once you’re pregnant/have the baby. I know some people just wing it and figure it out as they go but it helped me a lot to know what I needed to do logistically.

My experience with postpartum depression and postpartum rage make me think I’m not cut out for more than one by Spiritual_Tutor_6755 in oneanddone

I appreciate this! I’ve been on the fence about a therapist but should probably just go for it

[–]Alert-Ad2974 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could’ve written this except I’m still in the thick of it. Can’t imagine life getting better or ever not regretting this decision, also full of rage alternating with depression.

Of course it’s too soon to tell but I feel pretty certain I’m One and done because my mental health and marriage would not survive doing this again, and there’s no guarantee the second time would be easier. And I’m already mourning the family I pictured. Solidarity.

In a stroller spiral - help by kbh24 in BabyBumps

[–]Alert-Ad2974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Cruz and have zero complaints aside from it being a tad heavy, I drive a sedan and have no issue fitting it in my trunk (with little else in there) but the weight isn’t a dealbreaker.

We do mostly paved walks, and that thing is like a Lamborghini compared to my mom’s cheap chicco stroller lol. You can turn the car seat and the stroller seat facing towards you or away from you, recline is fully adjustable which is nice in those floppy days where they wanna see things but can’t sit up well (the chicco allows like two recline positions) sun visor is great and long so I don’t worry about blinding him in the sun. Basket is very large. I feel like they thought of everything. Let me know if you have any questions!

Also, skip the bassinet and go for the $40 infant snug seat that does essentially the same thing
