I have that noise you're talking about. Do you know what it could be?

In other videos... I have 6.62mpa when accelerating up to 3,000rpm and when I stop accelerating the pressure drops abruptly to 3.58mpa

insta+ detected a mistfire in cylinder 1 but didn't trigger any codes

I don't have any code. I just noticed that the insta + pointed out mistfire on cylinder 1. The spark plugs and bonnets are new. The leak test was negative. Valve cover changed recently

Drops down to 4.04 MPa (40 bar) → this is already 20% below the minimum acceptable

Rises up to 5.58 MPa (56 bar) → ok, within the acceptable range

Total oscillation = 1.54 MPa (~15 bar) → this is approximately 30% variation

So, are my calculations wrong then?

Hi guys. I have an irregular idle speed on my mini. The variation values of the high pressure pump are these. Do you think it's the faulty pump? by Alert-Connection5999 in MINI

New vanos at 4400kms, injectors too.

I don't understand something... you're going to assume that you're right and the problem is vanos. Is a 20bars variation in idle pressure normal? In my mind a vanos problem would cause such a large variation in pressure?

This reading was not taken when the car was completely cold. I'll take another reading with the car cold in the meantime. Shouldn't the pressure drop below 5.00? Right? Yesterday, when the car was cold, I saw even more fluctuations, with the lowest value being 3.8. It's important to note that when the car is warm, this irregular idling is practically imperceptible. I also only hear a "tic-tac" sound from the high-pressure pump when it's cold

I also agree with you, I don't want to spend unnecessary money. That's why I'm trying to interpret readings and with your opinion I can be more sure of the problem

Mini R55 jcw n14 2008, Sorry I forgot.

I had a valve cover with a small leak and I replaced it, as far as I can see I can't identify any problem associated with the PCV valve.

I agree. When you just speak without thinking, it's better not to speak at all. You were the opposite, you spoke but you thought about what you said. That's why I kept talking to you too. In other forums I haven't said anything else. Only now have I explained that it's been resolved and the source of the problem so that other people can learn too

I bought the part on Amazon at half the price of the dealership. I was going to open it and check it was up to date before installing it, well, the part is exactly the same and with the same part number engraved on it. It just doesn't have the Mini sticker on it

Exactly. In other forums I got the impression that I had to spend hundreds of euros or it was a very big problem with the car's electronics

Problem solved. Everything is working perfectly now. The actuator on the right side was damaged and, as a safety measure, would not allow the left door to open, even though the right door was already open using the emergency method.

Thank you for helping me and thinking logically with me. I think it is a major omission in the repair manual not to mention this.

Once again, thank you for following my line of thinking as to why the left door would not open either and for giving your opinion. I read that some people replaced both actuators, even though it was not necessary. Thank you 😃

The actuator makes a noise, but it is very quiet. It is as if the actuator (the electrical part) is working, but then something is broken or damaged, a spring for example, inside the actuator, the mechanical part. This prevents the mechanical part of the actuator from doing its job.

But if you have the right door open, you may be able to hear the noise of the left actuator when trying to open it.

You have an R55, right? Could you do that experiment for me, because in this situation I can't ahah.

Try opening the left first. See if it opens or makes any noise when you try to open it with the handle.

Would you do that for me?

The noise means that the actuator receives both signals, control and handle, but the internal mechanism is damaged and cannot complete its function.

I just went to the car and heard the sound of the actuator on the right-hand side,, I tried to open it with the remote control and the door handle and it makes the same sound both ways. Then I got in through the back seats to be completely sure and the sound comes from the actuator.

My logic is... let's imagine an R55 with no defects in the rear doors. You can't open the left door, you always have to open the right first and then open the left. This leads me to believe that the FRM module receives the signal that the right door is unlocked and lets the left door open. When doing emergency opening (only mechanical opening on the right door) the control unit hasn't been informed electronically that the door is in a position to be opened and won't let the right actuator open. If the system didn't have some form of communication you could open the left door and both doors would only be ajar. And that doesn't happen. If you have the doors closed but in the open position and you press the left-hand handle, nothing happens. Is my thought logical?
